Search for some of the N9 & N950 comparative threads at TMO & FMC.
You will find that overall it's actually not vastly better, in fact in many ways it's inferior.

Exactly
N950 has 12MP camera and a perfect metal body and a much better screen.(If you do have N950 and compare with N9 you will agree)
The only inferior is battery slightly smaller.

But still, not worth for a mum though.

Once again you are utterly wrong about the screen & the camera module.
It's even more disturbing that you still think this, given that you had everything explained to you.
I also fail to see how the metal body is some kind of advantage...

The info's out there for him to do his homework, the overall differences are considerable.
I'm not going to dig it all up again for yet another person....
The N9's better hardware-wise overall, unless a built-in hw qwerty's an absolute must.

The only thing that differ is that N9 got NFC, 200 mA more battery.. Which is not that important. The n950 got a hw-keyboard which is important in everyday use. The camera module of N9 vs N950 is not same but the software using it is. Not that it matters that much either....

^ No, there is actually quite a bit more to it than that.
I just CBF'd going into it all again, done it dozens of times.
Every mth a new person pops up lamenting the loss of the vastly superior N950.
The info. is out there....

how about the n950 only having a 16g flash memory ...9g usable, no sd card slot and no gorilla glass
