It wouldn't be 'funny' though when the lovely devices get specks, smudges, or scratches, dents, hairline cracks etc.

Better don't.
The more u mess around with the original fitment - the more problematic it could get. Rather, polish / buff the surfaces instead.

For the love of God! Always use a case! I figured hey what could happen without a case when I'm charging the phone overnight? Well it took a 3ft fall onto a tile floor directly on the corner. The case would've protected it. Better safe than sorry, take it from me, it is so painful to have this happen. Luckily I just dropped it off for repairs, it is about 270 dollars to have it fixed, not so lucky...

What about those with white N9s? they only come with the black pouch. They dont have a white OEM case. Any ideas for them?

yet you would not buy a device with 'integrated' protection...thus the dichotomy. I meant 'funny' in the sense of strange or weird, not comical.

anyway, I never use cases. I sleep in the nude too :)

After reading this thread, I put the case on and do not like it. I do not like the feel and the hole in the back. Uncomfy feel to it. I'm used to the smooth slippery feel, I guess. Like quipper8, I sometime wonder why friends even bother wanting e.g. a "white iPhone" then went and cover it with some other color.

N9 too sexy to be cover up for me. I never used case. All my phones get scratches near the end of its life when I starts to not care much. rarely drop them also.

Re: To case or NOT to case?

Yeah I almost always have my case on it, my first N9 (long story short it died and was replaced by Vodafone ELF) I had it out of the case a fair bit and found a couple of tiny scratches near the camera lens, on the metal plate bit, suffice to say with my new N9 I've gone totally OCD on the case issue.
I really like the original cases but I'm considering getting a case from ebay, i found this one seller that makes custom leather cases that also function as card wallets, the amount of customization is crazy.
I don't want one scratch on my baby.
But I digress, has anyone found a screen protector that actually can deal with curved glass? I knew from the Samsung Nexus S that curved screens were an issue.
I realise plenty will cover the part of the screen where the LCD is behind it. But I don't want a scratch anywhere on it, regardless of whether the LCD is behind it or not.
