First off: What made you think the N900 (a tablet-based phone) would bet at all like your N95 (feature phone)? They're not at all in the same class. It's like saying "I thought this airplane would beat my old VWBug hands down, but it doesn't even have a speedometer!"

I love showing off my N900, and it can do things that no other phone or tablet can do. I routinely zoom in to photos I just took. I have it setup to have espeak read me text messages *through my car audio system* when it's connected. (Which happens every time I turn my car on, automatically.) I sync my N900 with Outlook and with my Google calendar (via an ical script) regularly.

The only thing I don't do from your list is have multiple groups or special profiles, which would be great but isn't a "must have" for me. If by 5 you mean voice command for your phone, like Siri, the N900 had that well before Siri existed. There's a voice recognition package in the repositories (pocketsphinx) to do just that, though it takes some know-how to make it work.

Understand nothing you've listed is OS based. In every device out there, this is all done with apps, either apps written by the provider, or apps from a 3rd party. Sometimes those apps are tightly bundled with the OS (from the manufacturer), but outside monolithic platforms like Symbian, it's not part of the base OS.

Other things I do with my phone that I've yet to find all together on another device:

Can run a private servers for Web, FTP, SVN, and more.
Can turn into a wifi hot spot w/o separate charges. (via Joiku or MHS)
Can use USB devices & thumb drives (vai h.e.n.)
Supports GSM, 3G, skype, and all major IM protocols.
Supports full-device backup/restore, w/ rescue mode (BackupMenu)
Has free dev tools, free garage, free repository, and can support any Deb-compliant repository as an "app store".
Syncs easily with Outlook, Google, and anything that supports VCard, ical, or csv formatted entries. Raw access to the whole database (IM, mail, contacts, etc) is available via sqlite.
Has full, open, non-warranty-breaking root mode for access to everything (hardware and the raw system files).
Supports loading 3rd party firmware images via USB with no user lock-out capabilities.

Show me any device that gives you all that, and the stuff you listed above. I doubt it exists anywhere, outside of the N900. I know, I've been looking for years. That's how I found this device. :)

The N900 is capable of doing everything you've mentioned and more. The fact that you can't do it means it's something you're doing (or not doing) that's causing the issue. Jumping to another device isn't going to fix that... Staying an whining about it isn't going to fix it either.

One word of advice, since you seem fixated on jumping: If you do decide to pick another device to jump to, do yourself (and the next forum) a favor. Investigate the device before you buy it, so you know exactly what it can and can't do. And when I say investigate, I mean go to a store and try it out. Don't rely on a forum, or an advertisers site, or you tube videos, or whatever it was that lead you to get an N900, since clearly that didn't work. Get up off your duff and waddle out to a store that actually has display models, and pick based on real trials.
