Yes, you can pull the tiny (and annoying) USB door and put it back without problems.

Pull it straight out and firmly press it back the way it came.

Can't help you with tuck in and bedtime story b/c my kids would be jealous. :eek:

Mine for now is just dented... after it slipped from my hand and fell right on the door when I was about to put it on charge... it just got bent - I took a plier and straightened it up... It's metallic on the inside.. how'd it break??

You're lucky that it didn't break even after using a plier on it :p What I felt is, it is too delicate. I accidentally, after charging, pressed the door to the opposite direction :( But I did it too gently - that I am sure :( But unfortunately it broke :(
