That's serial tasking. There's background services; but that's in all of the current Mobile OS out now. Multi-tasking isn't in all of the Mobile OS's out now though, not in a classical definition.

Why long-press the Back button? It doesn't make (intuitive) sense!

Pressing Back, should do just that, go back one page/settings.
Holding it should instantly kill/exit app...(like how I have it set up on AOKP).
Pressing Home should toggle the RunningTasks.
I don't think anyone uses the Spotlight/Search button on WindowsPhone, frankly it makes it clucky and confusing to use (from my limited experience).
