AMD if you want to learn some development go to IRC #harmattan @freenode...

Your requests/ideas will be entertained there too as all developers are on it...

I don't think I did - this is just an example that for sure at least partial modification of quicklaunch bar is possible. As a proof of concept - as for going further (more icons, swiping left-right for another set of icons) - no idea.
