Hehe, iamthewalrus is right. I once got rid of this message (can't remember exactly how), by editing /home/user/.mozilla/microb/prefs.js and changing something like notify/warn to disabled.

Best bet is to open about:config and search for notify/warn/confirm/annoy/p!$$ :p and disable it. I'll check it out.

You have to set dom.window.jsevents.policy to False in /home/user/.mozilla/microb/prefs.js.

No such entry in my prefs.js file. Are you suggesting adding it?

I usually see this dialog box after having closed the previous browser process due to the dreaded "Browser not responding".

When I launch the browser again, it now has that dialog poping up on certain pages until I reboot my N800.

Sure enough, OSEmuTech, rebooting seems to have cured it.

I think mine started after running
Code:

dpkg --configure -a
to fix (successfully) a problem I had with Application Manager.

I had it by default.

I suppose adding it could not harm you. Give it a try. If it does not work for you, just remove it.

Re: Javascript Confirmation

The combination of microBrowser instabiity and annoying javascript confirmation pop-up has pretty much rendered my new n810 unusable today.

For example, if i run about:config, load-applet goes to max, and the page will not load. I can kill the browser process (even though it only shows 3% load). But, then I am left with the javascript confirmation thing until the next reboot.

I'm running the latest firmware. I have about 60 mB free space.

Very annoying.... This bug needs fixing!

I tried getting rid of it, but was mostly unsuccessful. I thought this line in Prefs.js may be it, but am not sure: "user_pref("security.warn_submit_insecure", true);". Even if that or another line could be changed, I fear that, like OSEmuTech said, the next browser process kill would bring it back.

Re: Javascript Confirmation

Pardon me in advance for this rant...

I started over an hour ago just wanting to use my n810 to do some simple surfing; thats what it was marketed for, right? But, it is not effective for that simple task. The microbrowser is horribly slow - documented in plenty of places on ITT. It also crashes. After it crashes one gets the dreaded 'javascript confirmation' annoyance. I have already set user_pref("dom.window.jsevents.policy", false); , that does not fix it. I waited the required 6 minutes for about:config dialog to come up, but there is no obvious setting to turn off the annoyance. (go bottomof post for more information)

My daughter was first fascinated with the n810. now she just uses it to play mahjong.

I'm getting sick of wasting my time with it, despite all the things it can do if one is willing to spend hours and hours with it.

Nokia, not the mamaeo community, needs to fix the microbrowser. Why is it asking too much for a 'dont ask again' checkbox?!?!?! arrrggghhh!

btw, I think I fixed with this setting in about:config security.warn_submit_insecure false

You're just lucky! I have no idea what starts it going nor what would kill it forever. It goes away sometimes for weeks, and then it returns, and sometimes even rebooting doesn't get rid of it.
