+1 to what pichlo said and that way you also pre source the case so you just need the motherboard !

I was under the impression that the Neo900 is going to be bigger than the N900 is. Does that not apply for the PCB? I don't recall reading anything about replacing the N900's PCB with the NeoN board.

I probably missed that bit of info.

It's going to be thicker. Otherwise it will fit in exactly the same housing, which was one of the design goals right from the start. Original screen, original keyboard, original speakers, original antennas... you get the idea. Only a small spacing will be added to accommodate the extra thickness.

Ah! I knew I was missing something! I already got that the Neo900 would be bigger (thicker, rather), but I didn't know if that was because the board wouldn't fit. Thanks for clearing that up!

@nokiabot, I originally got my info from the Neo900 site. In fact, I subscribed to their RSS feed not too long ago (August, I believe).

wood and fish really don't go together visually...
unless it is a salmon being planked by campfire.

Re: Replacing My Windows Phone

Alright. I've decided. N900 it is. This thread definitely helped me decide.

Since I will inevitably (read: hopefully) get my hands on a Neo900 one way or another, I think getting an N900 is the best way to go. From what I've seen, it's relatively cheap to boot. Plus, I can save money while also supporting "the little guy" by getting the NeoN board as an upgrade.

Now, I don't have a Paypal, nor do I have any intentions on making one. Can't I just pay via credit card on eBay, or does that vary from seller to seller? I'm not familiar with eBay.

The Amazon listings aren't bad (although some are outright ridiculous), so I should be good there. I think the safest way for me to go about this is to skirt by local Radioshacks and second-hand shops to see if there's a random N900 anywhere. That'll be a start.

Thanks ...
it's the most loverly thing to look at...
and really the tastiest way to do fish...

but it's terrible as a case to fit in the pocket... :D

...actually fish skin of any kind isn't something I'd recommend or want for any kind of project or case for that matter....
gets wet...smells pretty bad...scales flake off.
Wood is little better ...it also doesn't have the strength to take damage...let alone repeatedly and still look good and be functional.

looks good if done right...
like nothing but wood case....
or nothing but scales ...
but both together look wretched.

antler, plastik, leather and metal have better durability
