I have to disagree with you here, K9 Mail for android is far better, some of the useful stuff it does that Modest doesn't: multiple identities, threaded view.

I don't know nothin' about no K9 so you may be right and it might well be better. You are also right about Modest not supporting a treaded view.

But, if by multiple identities you mean having a choice when composing or replying to an email which address you send it from, Modest does that just fine.

+1 for Password Safe, it works really well. I've been using it for years and no issues. You can export into keep pass for the desktop I think. But for simple easy interface it's hard to beat, been good enough to keep me on it for my desktop too and recommend it to folks on widows, mac, linux, android, iOS mainly for its openness and compatibility. Heh, okay I'm done :D. Welcome back to the fold.

Thank you all. :) May I also ask if there's some easy way to sync calendars from Google? I tried SyncEvolution and Erming from repos but they don't work for me.

Not sure if you saw this post I made and I'm not even sure if it will help :D.

But have a look. I try not to use google product as much as possible so I can't say if anything has changed in the way the deal with syncing.

The link has a bunch of source links at the bottom too.

Good luck.

Thanks @xman, I ended up copying calendar files manually from my computer to N900. I don't have any experience with OwnCloud but I guess I'll try it in the future.

With modest you can't actually have multiple identities associated with a single email account. If you have multiple accounts then yes you can select which account to reply from - but that's not the same as multiple identities. There is a funky workaround (which still involves setting up multiple accounts):

[HowTo Workaround] Multiple Identities in Modest
