Not knowing anything: is there a way with an external hw to be able to connect with 4g network with a 3g capable device?

Of course. Just add an external (usb-stick) 4G modem and you are fine.
(of course it would be best if you had space *inside* the device so it would not stick out from the side...)

It seems that N900 5G still missing in this site:
https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_int/classic-phones
should we ask why it missing?

Would it be better to be like an updated N950 or N900? Have not seen N950 live. I think that N900 could be big enough if it output would reach the screen edges.

I had N950 before N900.
N950 missing agains N900:
- Resistive touchscreen & pen
- Camera slider
- SD-card slot
- Easy battery replace
- USB-hack to use USB-sticks
- IR-transmitter
- kickstand
N900 missing against N950:
- big keyboard
- good metal case.

And I think that Maemo 5 is better OS and Meego feels like cut down version from Maemo.

Of course it would be nice to see phone with all good things from N810-N950 and possibility choose your OS somw between OS2008-Maemo Leste.

I only meant the size of the device :). But always cool to hear from someone who had both.

I would love a device that could boot OS like the pinephone but be the size of around n950, have a keyboard and Wacom/Apple Pencil quality pen. IR is cool, but never had much use for it (low powered), camera cover would be nice (but not needed for me). kickstand would be awesome.

I have, and it just did work when I needed it to or did work properly. For example the distance and power of the n900 ir is fairly weak. For example with my old newton 2100 I could change the station of store tvs from the street when walking by!! The n900 not even in the same room often. The sharp zuarus 550 had this same issue.

Not saying it not useful, just saying it did end up being that useful on the n900 for me.
