#2 Fellfrosch

Old old building in the mountains. Could be from some Lord of the Rings era with that view. I like it.

Re: Phone Camera Competition September 2020: "Old building"

I nearly wetted my trousers when I saw Maemish's pic. And even more when I read the associated text. I think there were two mushrooms at the beginning, but one vanished into smoke :D.

Thank You for your great humor!

If it would have been something which would have been more old buildingish, you would have got my vote for sure.

But I agree with the mosen, Bundyo just nailed the theme and captured really a unique moment. So my vote goes to his shot #3.

Again, quite hard to decide!
Maemish was my first choice but thinking about the building it is a quite new one. But great scene and shot. Thanks.
Bundyo's shot is really a great moment, thank you.
But I see Fellfrosch fulfilled the topic the best.
So my vote goes to #2, Fellfrosch

Re: Phone Camera Competition September 2020: "Old building"

Ahahah @mosen!

No cat bribing, owner asking or graffiti making were involved in capturing this photo. I was just passing by (going to school parent meeting for my daughter's class) and saw the building and the cat on the old car roof. The rest was just point and shoot after getting the cat's attention. :)

Wanted to also frame the car, but thought the cat wouldn't be a center of attention then (and was in a hurry:).

I vote #2 Fellfrosch for the nice old building with a view.

I'll vote #3 Bundyo also, there's something magical about capturing a cat mid-yawn.

Oh no.
Now TMO is on the level of cat picture internet :D

I guess it's yawning cats FTW.

#3 Bundyo

As much as I like cats, I must vote #6 Pentona.

Really nice entries this month and can't decide which. (And a great theme as well)

Very hard to decide between Bundyo and Fellfrosch...

My vote goes for Fellfrosch But I also love Bundyo's cat especially it matches colour with the building as well.

Re: Phone Camera Competition September 2020: "Old building"

I have to defend my picture against Peterleichens accusation of the building to be a new one. Yes, it is new - and yet old. Mushrooms are one of the earliest creatures inhabiting the earth. So as a concept of building they are the oldest. Also the form of the building can argued to be incredibly old too. And then the mushroom itself which makes up these pop up builds every year and made this one too - who knows how old he/she/it is. It may have lived in the ground like ages. So I agree that this particular pop up building is new and will be gone in a week possibly, but from all other aspects considered it is the oldest building there can be and the oldest form as well. It is possibly almost exact replica of another pop up building that was like million years ago - which is something that can not be said of any other building seen in this competition. But - there is no cat in the picture. I think there was one - before the Boogie Bump ate it.

Crap, i was just going to vote #8 netman - not that it would have changed anything - but I love the plain documentary motive and the succinct text that goes with it.

#7 eson is also very nice.

Doubleplus congrats bundyo for pulling off a runaway victory in a pretty nice field of interesting and appealing pics! I really liked a lot of these shots very much.

(Still a little sad that my grandfather's old machine shed had finally been demolished after standing incongruously alone between two suburban low-rise office buildings for a decade or so, long after the big house and everything else was gone. That glorious decay would have been fun! But the other great photos make up for that mostly.)

With great photos comes great responsibility! What's your chosen them for October 2020?

Re: Phone Camera Competition September 2020: "Old building"

Oops, didn't know I should choose the next theme. This should be added to the rules. :)

Hmm, now let's see...

Nice.
I don't know how to get motion into a still picture, but I surely have some ideas for "Autumn lights"!

Re: Phone Camera Competition September 2020: "Old building"

Just wait to the end of the month. You have to arrange the voting (in right time!) and caunt the votes. No wonder same people do not win every time. How many good pictures are posted "too late" so you don't need arrange the voting.

Old competition threads are sandboxed private off topic areas for pirate radio kind of free speech. Just try to prevent us. You got nothing.

Took the board out from N900, sprayed with electricity cleaner, brushed with toothbrush and no more red light district. But because the camera is not working I will not attain the competition. Hope the camera will work some day.

Nice!
But maybe your camera is not dead but focusing internally... into a zombie world..??
So you might be able to capture ghosts&pixies with it now! :D

I have tried to take pictures but nothing is saved in gallery. Maybe to a shadow gallery? Default camera starts but BlessN900 crashes at start.

Did you have to do a full reflash? Is tracker running to index your new pics?

Also, IIRC, isn't there a patched fcam library needed for BlessN900? . . . Memories of the before-times fading . . .

Maemish 2020-10-12 19:11

Re: Phone Camera Competition September 2020: "Old building"

I did not reflash cause I don't want to start from scratch. There were places on board which had obviously fried with a closed circuit (like burned/oxidied places) while in water. Now this works otherwise than camera. I once uninstalled and reinstalled BlessN900 but default camera wont so anything except a black screen. So no pictures with this one at the moment. i may try with Leste when it will be ready with calls. wizzup promised a new update soon.
