I guess every single piece of WiFi gear I've ever seen is flawed. I've never had a router that goes above channel 12.

My guitar amp has got a special volume control. It goes all the way to eleven.

This thread has gone pretty far off topic, but I'm sure there are still some Canadians looking around.
For various reasons I have had to get some form of portable internet. I have just subscribed to Bells Portable internet service (WiMax). They force a modem on you which is, by their own admission, a little "outdated" (Rogers uses the same one). They say you can connect more than one device using the same account, but any unsupported hardware i.e. anything other than the modem, is, well, unsupported.

Since they don't publish any info on this, I request info on their network frequencies and this was their answer :
98MHz at 2.5GHz across Canada except in Manitoba and Saskatchewan as well as 100 MHz at 2.3-3.5GHZ in every major city.

I'll post additional in a bit.

Well, since Nokia has basically pulled the N810W off the shelves, and it never really was for sale here in Canada, this thread was always just idle speculation, anyway.

But thanks for the info.

Be sure that the WiMax in Canada is on 2.5 GHz, which is what the N810 WiMax Ed. expects. Some countries use other frequencies, like 3.5 GHz in Russia and Slovakia.

Some people have the devices and I would still be interested if someone can get theirs to work in a place other than Baltimore, Washington or Chicago.
