You should remove your modest and any modest repos to skip this dependency problem i think.

Just install the "account-plugin-haze" deb. and that should get you up and running.

How do I install this on an intel mac?

After finishing installing my previous applications, I received a couple of announcements for updates. One was for Skype.

Does anyone know what difference there is in the new version 1.7.113.22.2 (if it's new)?

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

I understand that the firmware update brings with it an update to Wayfinder. The only comment on that in this threat seems to suggest that not much has changed to the Navigation program. Has anyone taken a closer look at this to see what actually has changed? Even better, does someone know where to find release notes concerning the Wayfinder update?

same question here... i don't think it's gonna happen? then again, the PPC installer/flasher never worked for me...

looks like a chicken 'n egg problem here if one has a new NIT and only an Intel Mac? IOW, once you get the new release installed you won't have to worry about a flashing utility, but Intel Mac folks can't flash their NITs?

btw, congrats to Nokia on the new release!

The BBC iPlayer is still fairly poor playing back the programmes.

Disappointed there.

Have you tried the application available at this link?? http://www.bleb.org/software/maemo/770Flasher-2.0.dmg

It is PPC only but works fine with Rosetta and Leopard. I've just flashed mine with it. Most importantly it is quite mac-like. :D

Enjoy Diablo

I've just tried this, MSN was there to choose but it didn't save my settings. I set it up, pressed finish but it didn't add my account. Does it work for you?

Do anybody know how to clone diablo on SD?
I think we need diablo initfs with boot menu.

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

Trying to export microb bookmarks for Diablo. But the file exported includes just three of my bookmarks. Can someone please tell me where in the filesystem I can find my bookmarks? The file at usr/share/bookmark manager seems to be some default list utterly different from my own microb bookmarks...

EDIT: Finally got "Export Bookmarks" to work from within microb. Not sure why it never has worked properly before.

Is this from a backup/restore? If so, edit the extras catalogue in app manager, and set the distribution to read:
chinook diablo

anyone know how to install the base python runtimes? I see loads of python2.5-something, but no python2.5-runtime.

I need base python to run a few pygtk apps, but don't want to install something I don't need

Sorry...one missed detail. Install "telepathy-haze" That will get you up and running. You may have to delete the previously made account and start again.

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

It was not. Nothing really to backup / restore so a fresh upgrade of OS without worry. Have tried this anyway and it did work.

Thank you!:o

Code:

sudo ./flasher-2.0.macosx -F RX-34_DIABLO_4.2008.23-14_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
worked here on intel, make sure you hold the home-key while plugging in the power cable.

is there a listing of all the fixes and improvements in the new firmware?

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

OMWeather crashes whenever I try to edit the options...I get the white screen and it reverts to standard display - i.e. Personal Menu, Advance Backlight etc all disappear until reboot.

Otherwise...Seems to be working just great!

Can anyone list the major improvements in this release? Save me searching for them. I believe that the big one is re-flashing is a thing of the past thanks to in-line updates and that the email software has changed.

Anything else??

Thanks

I wanted to check the internet radio streaming. Started BBC World Service and it said unsopported format. Could anyone check if it's just me or has the Media Player lost the support for this format?

Same here. But you don't need to reboot. Just reselect all applets and enter to Panels in Control Panel and click OK.

I had a backup, so fortunately my preferences were restored and OMWeather is still useful to me.

Anyone having problems installing apps after updating? I was able to download Skype and...Skype. Can't get Pidgin, Quiver, Maemo Mapper, Xournal, etc to install.

I didn't backup my apps before the update cause I like redownloading (I'm weird like that). Anyone else in the same boat?

Is there a list of changes that a non-programmer can understand? This is to help answer the question "why bother?".

I couldn't update or install *anything* at first. Something was funny with the restore + update combination. I reflashed and did it the other way around and it seemed to work better.

Namely, when you flash and it asks to restore, hit cancel, download and refresh the application list, THEN you can restore and recover your apps properly.

The hugest change is the incremental updates. Big big big. I would say watch the forums for the next day or so and look for the threads that say "x won't run on Diablo" and see if it will impact your usage too much.

Then prepare for the upgrade by backing up, planning some time for the inevitable reflash/restart/reinstall, and do it. The incremental updates are too significant to ignore.
