Biggest issues on N8x0:
* Input control panel needs to be able to adjust N810 HW keyboard
* Slight problem when altering statusbar applets causing them to shift.

We're getting a lot closer with 0.15, out on 20th. Since we have Xomap now, the perceived "slowness" is gone. Sound works, battery metering works, etc. Yet, we're waiting for Fremantle beta2 :) I'm personally getting to a point where I'd switch to Mer - and I'm picky. The percieved lack of applications is wrong btw, it's just because we have a lot of stuff in our extras-devel we haven't promoted.

WiFi is probably one or two lines away when we find the problem. Automounting would come when N8x0 does it. Sound - I'm not sure how 770 sound actually works (it's ALSA isn't it)?

I think the alsa 770 driver in the omap kernel doesn't work... DSP only I think.

What does that mean in practice? Must all system icons be redone by the community?
If yes, how many? Do you need help?

Yes we need help - thanks :)

There's a lot of interest in Mer ... but not a huge amount of volunteers yet.

By far the best way to get involved is to pop into #mer on freenode and chat there. wazd is a good guy to grab on the gui side.

fixing enabling bluetooth (pair to a phone with mobile broad band connection) would help testing mer 0.15 for 770 too

I did not understand yet ... wi-fi works on the Nokia 770 with some version of mer? if not, why?
