Ah, the Social Justice Warrior... they never disappoint.

Always good for a laugh when they over-react to "offensive" words even in inoffensive sentences.

I've heard of seemingly white babies getting "blacker" as they grow into children. But never heard of a pale teen getting darker without tanning.

I've never heard of this fiasco before but it does seem to be a case of "blackface" and denial. And it's sad that people affix to such superficial points.

'mericans got some mitey big problems with tolerance...doesn't matter the colour...everyone down south regardless of their colour is too quick to start something.
It really isn't something recent either.
Always has been like that too...for a very long time.

Yeah... her black father had to flee deep south in a midnight train:

CNN is already defending her 'right to be black' in an editorial piece, oh boi, nobody mention monty python (then again, maybe it's time for eminem to come out of the closet)

What I find the saddest is that this is for some reason considered newsworthy.
I had never heard about that woman before and would have happily remained that way.

oh wait, there's more:
http://toucharcade.com/2015/06/25/ap...federate-flag/

It's looking like Apple has pulled everything from the App Store that features a Confederate flag, regardless of context. The reasoning Apple is sending developers is "...because it includes images of the confederate flag used in offensive and mean-spirited ways."

Cool, US is catching up with Germany, they censored swastikas from Wolfenstein 3D, now expecting new release of North & South without the south

hahahaha...yeah...
y'know szopin ...scarily you are on to something there.
With the U.S. they tend to extremes...
Soooo I expect that next they'll ban the actual "past" ever having happened...because the thought of it will be offensive...
Kinda like the rewording of "french fries" to "freedom fries" they did when ticked off at the French.
I'm surprised that they didn't pack up the statue of liberty and ship that gift back as well.
To forget the past is to repeat it ...most assuredly...

On another note...
I liked the zippable banana.

we're all about inclusiveness, please exclude this contributor based on unrelated to the project personal views

Quote:

This issue is a case study in how the open source community systematically protects abusers and excludes LGBT developers. A white cisgender man can publicly claim that transgender people are delusional and suffer zero consequences in the open source community.

What do you think an LGBT developer thinks when they see this? Do they see a safe, welcoming environment where their identities and well-being will be respected and protected? Or a callous, self-serving machine that ruthlessly prioritises short-term technical goals over all else?

You can't divorce your choices from their sociopolitical context just because it's convenient for getting a bunch of code shipped. If you're choosing to collaborate with somebody despite knowing about their prejudice against the LGBT community, then that's a choice you're consciously making. It's a choice that reveals a personal belief system which prioritises code over people.
Bonus, the myth of meritocracy:

Re: In Search Of: Oxygen Depriving Humor

who wants to bet he runs off to the cayman's with the bailout money...?
Regardless...greece is a monetary sinkhole.
It won't stop there...
They'll always need more.

How much of the populace is/was unionized? (nothing against unions ..I think they are important..)
How much of the populace works ...or rather it should be.."worked" as civil servants before their purge...?
What was the retirement and age for pension again compared to the rest of Europe?
What exactly were their exports this last decade and what monies were they making again?

I know roughly a dozen greek quasi-citizen/immigrants here...
they all worked at the same foundry as a friend of mine...great guys really... but I see what the probs are ...and they are manifold..
Whilst working at $40+ dollar an hour/full-time jobs...these boys were also always bragging about their greek pensions they were simultaneously collecting...
It's no wonder the country is sinking...
Unfortunately ..the P.I.G.S. countries have been busy spending monies they never were pulling in...essentially mortgaging their futures...since the end of the 2nd world war...with little regard as to consequence...and now ...it has all been coming home ...piling up...
It is called fiscal irresponsibility ...
and it is somehow expected to be taken as the responsibility and debt of the fiscally responsible countries...and as well it is expected the rest of the planet must be financially dragged down ...from the markets to the curriencies ...
As a topper ..the greek referendum won a majority to oppose dealing with their fiscal responsibilities...pretty much giving the finger to the E.U. ...

Personally I don't think the Greek government should get one more thin penny...
Let them find their own way back up from the bottom of the ocean of red they are determined to drown themselves in and seem determined to take whoever helps with them...
I think some instructional and educational videos would help...like say this kindergardener-level one ...from-back-in-the-day....

This brightened up my commute to work this morning. Overheard on a local radio station known for random quips like that inserted between songs.

You will need to rename the attachment to .mp3. The TMO uploader has its quirks too.
