sigh....logged on to clubmac.com and saw my order status report as back ordered, called them and tried to cancel and the rep who answer the phone said they are possitive that it's coming in today and I should give it till the end of the day, if not call back tomorrow and cancel.

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

yes no lies, however i ordered 2 n900 from nokiausa.com, today i only noticed $706 decreasing on my CC acc. thats only for 1 n900. the first time i ordered is 29 sept, and the second one is on 1st oct.
the reason i ordered two is, one of my friend had a web error from nokiausa website. so i ordered for him.
and today i keep checking my order status from nokiausa.com its still said in progress, hopefully by noon it will change *fingercross*
will keep checking and keep you guys update untill i feel a sleep ><

Why is the problem if someone gets high number of posts?!?
I mean this is a forum, how can one thread be different than others?
I saw hundred of stupid threads with even more stupid posts on this forum, but it looks like even if you say something in this thread that's helpful to others that doesn't count at all.
What a bunch of.. ****ers.

I ordered mine from Nokia USA on Sept 13 and my card has not been charged nor my order status has changed to anything else but in progress. In fact the hold was just dropped like it does every Monday until Friday and then it s back on again. like clock work.

Nothing charged on my CC for my order from Nokia USA and still no tracking information. I am sticking with my 10/26 estimation

@kopte3: look at the useful ones and compare the benefit of such thread against ones like this.

There's something more meaningful when you're a part of a community. It's a two way street.

Nokia Germany Support is so bored about those guys who permanently ask about availability that they now send me one single sentence:

Quote:

Bei Vorbestellung ist eine Anlieferung voraussichtlich ab dem 30. Oktober 2009 möglich. Dies ist abhängig von der gewählten Versandart und Produkt-Verfügbarkeit.
I dont translate that, it's just copy & paste from their website: October 30st.

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

This forum is not only for developers.
Maybe it has been until N900 was released, but now we are talking about the normal guys, average Joes too.
You have to except that and cooperate with these guys too. Not just turning your head in other direction and closing their threads. Because that will not work. You need them and they need you. Every developer needs somebody to use his app/widget, whatever, and every average customer need app/widget etc. And how does number of posts matter?! If "thanks" matters, incude "no thanks" too, for people who can't behave.
Thanks for reading this.

Ghule 2009-10-20 14:24

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

I don't think it is going to ship today. :(

I just call them and ask when the N900 would be shipping. The rep told me by Oct. I said so by the end of this month? She said umm... maybe.. let me check my link. Sir it will most likely ship Oct. I said umm.. ok. Thanks

And they don't have any idea either.... doh.

Thanks for reading this.

'No thanks.' Interesting idea. Flag as objectionable etc.? Might be worthwhile. If flagged as objectionable, then any thanks could be negated, pending an appeal to be decided by moderator(s). DOes this seem like a worthwhile thing?

I found the previous closed thread sometimes informative, often frustrating, often entertaining, sometimes off-putting, but my own morals are my own and I don't wish to impose them on anyone else, for the most part.

I didn't actually realise it was not in 'Off Topic' which is where it should have been all along. Closing it was probably a little precipitous if it could have been moved, but there you are, we are a benign dictatorship, not a democracy - the forum is provided *by* someone *for* our use, IMO.

On topic:

My expansys order (UK to Canada) says 4 days, and the UK site has definitel y moved from pre-order to order and we'll ship in a couple of days mode. Thus, I am officially allowing myself to become excited, and have got my head around Python enough that my first attempt at productivity will be, well, productive soon.

benign dictatorship??? The question is not if google it’s evil, the real question should be it’s maemo evil??? I’m starting to see things here that I really don’t like.

It's about Karma.

On talk.maemo.org you get Karma points for posting and for being thanked, unless it's in the Off Topic section. It was Reggie's concern that the original thread was abused for gaining karma (and he did say so, don't know where your dissatisfaction comes from...).

Yes, benign dictatorship, I think this is the right way to go.

The question isn't about evil at all that's a red herring. Think of it this way - if someone came into your house and started pissing in the sink or drawing on the walls, would you thank them for it or ask them to stop?

It's all about where you draw the line too.

As far as I know, no one ever posted about cross species bestiality here and we've never had stop and think of what was 'proper' and improper.

If you're taking up arms against 'censure', let me ask you if it's okay and proper for me to post a whole story taken out of Penthouse Letters (porn) here?

that would be so rad.
i placed a second order with alternate last week and their website said delivery around oct. 30. Now the shop says december.

i don't know if it was a good idea to cancel my amazon order. OTOH, is a fast delivery worth 60 euros? not in my book.

the next weeks will be so cruel :(

Don't put your hopes up. mobilecity.com had ETA: oct 12,2009. But now they changed it to Nov 5, 2009. I just want to say, don't have your hopes up.

Had me a lil chat with a online rep @ Nokia USA

Went a lil something like this ...

Quote:

Chat InformationThank you for choosing NokiaUSA. A sales representative will be with you shortly.

Chat InformationYou are now chatting with Davis.

Davis: Hello, welcome to Nokia. I am a Nokia Sales Representative, may I assist you finding a device today?

You: Im looking for a release date for the N900... would you happen to have any info on that ?

Davis: I would be glad to help you with that, may I ask who I'm chatting with today?

You: name is Naqueal .... sorry for not introducing myself

Davis: Hello Naqueal, Click here for N900 release date (on the right side under availability)

You: Cool thanks thats what i needed

Davis: No problem! Would you like to pre-order?

You: Not at this time I was looking for a more definite answer like a specific date. End of October is way better than 4th quarter but I need a solid date before I would place a order

Davis: The end of October would be October 31st, right?

You: LOL... nice try but If it was Oct 31 I think it would say Oct 31 instead of end of october

Davis: Oh, that's true. But that's just the first date I thought of when I saw that.

Davis: Better than 4th quarter though!

You: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=32158

You: check that thread out if you can 1500 posts of people waiting for the device to come out

You: there is even a contest to see who guesses the correct date

You: do you get commision off of a sale ... if so give me some sort of refrence number and when i place my order i would make sure you get credit

Davis: I'll be right with you.

Davis: Well when you place your order, you can just ask to be transferred to me "Davis" and I will.

Davis: Thanks!

You: cool i will do that ... lets hope thats on the 31st or sooner..if it drops before then or you have some sort of update ... naqueal@gmail.com

Davis: No problem, have yourself a great day Naqueal!

Davis: Thank you for visiting NokiaUSA and chatting with us today. We value your feedback. Please click the “Close” button at the top right to answer a few questions about your experience with us.

You: cool
Yep I know very uninformative ... but just trying to do my part in securing a definite release date

For what its worth, this was the response from my daily chat with Nokia.

Chat InformationThank you for choosing NokiaUSA. A sales representative will be with you shortly.

Chat InformationYou are now chatting with Paul.

You: Hey Paul

Paul: Hello, welcome to Nokia. I am a Nokia Sales Representative, may I assist you finding a device today?

Paul: May I ask who am I chatting with and what brings you to Nokia?

You: Actually I am just doing my daily check on my n900 pre-order in the desperate hope that Nokia is finally going to give us a solid release date

Paul: The N900 will be launched in the last week of October, your wait is almost over

You: Thank God. Its been getting pretty old having Nokia give vague or worse NO information on this device

You: So we can expect it to ship next week then

Paul: Yes towards the end of the month

You: Well we dont have much of the Month left Paul - so its either this week or next and then we are int November. So if its not this week then can I assume that it is next week, and one would hope early next week so we can get out devices before the weekend

Paul: Correct

You: Ok well thats all I needed to know - I can go back and report to the hundreds of people on maemo.org who are desperately waiting as well.

Paul: Thank you for visiting NokiaUSA and chatting with us today. We value your feedback. Please click the “Close” button at the top right to answer a few questions about your experience with us.
