Re: Are some people going to be let down by the browser?
I asked already in the N900 owners thread the same question, but maybe I could also ask the same thing here.
Can you use google maps web page smoothly ? I know the Javascript on that page is hellish, and it puts n810 browsers to it's knees immediately, but what about N900 ? |
Re: Are some people going to be let down by the browser?
I'd like to know, too. I expect it'll be a little better than Google Wave. Should work ok.

Can't proof this by some technical jargon, but to my experience 3Gs biggest gain for browsing was the lower latency. |

Uh, the main thing that got everyone in the US started on the N900 was its support for AWS North American 3G. Where you been, bro?!?

Re: Are some people going to be let down by the browser?
It works with TMobile, not at&t, 3g in the States.

Re: Are some people going to be let down by the browser?
This is one of the only things that has had me worried about the n900. I'll have to use it on AT&T so I wont be able to use their 3G network.
Would this noticeably impact the n900 experience (outside of being a little slower)? On my n95 (the non NAM/lacking American 3G) I noticed cellphone calls interrupt my internet browsing or prevents me from using googlemaps while talking to someone. Does anyone have experience testing the n900 on EDGE? Outside of slower speeds, would an EDGE connection not be able to properly handle AJAX sites like gmail/wave/maps etc? I think I could live with the slower webpage downloads, but if a lot of the web wont run like its capable of on 3G it might make me hold back on buying it. |
