this was mine last time i checked conky. After charged, 2.5G connected, 3 IM and a VoIP accounts online, got at least 2 hours worth of voice call (including Skype), Opera browser is on a chat website that refresh itself every 20 secs and my up time is the image below.

EDIT: once the battery runs out, I change the battery not Charge. I charge my spare battery via an external wall charger. :)

Can't remember why I had to reboot last time, but it may have been some messing about with memory cards I was doing.

Here's my uptime. I have two IM accounts running, using wifi with occasional (about 2-3 times a month) 3.5G data use. I have my pop3 email checked every half hour. I also have a few apps from extras-devel. this thing has been rock stable. I just have to charge it for at least half an hour every day.

Uptime says:

10:34:01 up 4:44, load average: 0.12, 0.08, 0.18

Think I rebooted after tinkering with themes and installing Marble.

I see in someones signature on here and it said "if you don't know to check your N900 Uptime, you shouldn't have one" Well screw you, I've had mine since last Wednesday and I'm still finding my way around it. /Rant over

Erm......how do you check your uptime on the N900? lol ;-) ;-)

No lag. WLAN hasn't worked for weeks anymore though ;)

Re: What's your N900 uptime?

My uptime is always less than a day because I change batteries.

it would be interesting to know if people who do not turn off/change batteries have the clock reset problem if they take the battery out.

Re: What's your N900 uptime?

Honestly, in spite all the **** the N900 gets around here of all places, if you CAN deal with the occasional frustrating bug, 99% of the time (especially with nothing from devel on board), it's known to be remarkably stable - especially with the last two PRs. Now, there are still bugs, and those who get affected by them have little recourse in Nokia, which is the main problem. But meh.

Actually, I finally got one of my own cliche N900 bugs over the last few days - the Conversations database getting corrupted and not saving messages. It took me multiple attempts at the same thing. Doing the more typically recommended method of deleting the database, or dumping it into a pure sql file and then putting that into a new database, didn't work. Killing the entire .rtcom-eventlogger folder did though. Frustrating, but at the end of the day all the other stuff about this device makes it worth it to me.

Clock reset problem? What problem is that? Never had a problem with that. I only have one battery, but I have had to do a couple of resets when the device became unresponsive - and pulled the battery out for a couple of minutes.

Don't recall having to reset the time apart from when I moved from the UK to New Zealand. Although I did find that the automatic update on mine was a few minutes out of sync from my PC (also automatically updated - but that kept time with digital TV), so I now have that option unchecked, and the n900 keeps up fine with the TV & PC.

Mish.

You could always try the battery hot-swap technique, but you do have to plug it in to the charger while you do it, which maybe you don't want to do.

Some N900s lose their date and time when you take out the battery, there should be some sort of internal battery to keep the internal clock running when you remove the regular battery, it doesn't seem to work very well in some N900s. There is a thread about it somewhere on these forums.

My current uptime is just over 8 days, it was somewhere over two weeks before that, but my battery died while I was using it even though the battery meter wasn't quite at empty.

Re: What's your N900 uptime?

I don't know how you guys do it, my N900 starts getting sluggish around 5 days of uptime. It just gets to a point that I quickly reboot it to have it up and responsive again.

Mish.

Mine never had the problem before too but now if I take the battery out for more than 10 seconds my date/time resets. I'm wondering if it's something that just happens with regular use or if it's because I never plug mine into a charger anymore, I only swap batteries.

Berserk 2011-02-25 16:05

Re: What's your N900 uptime?

Mine is on 25d 16h 56m now, still very responsive :D
I'm thinking about reflashing, because it got some issues, disregarding uptime.

Animations stutter a bit, but that's not very important, the thing that does bother me, is that some SMS's stay on 'pending', even if they are sent. Some of them also don't show up after opening the conversation again, including the recieved messages in between. After a reboot I get all those recieved messages at once :P

Re: What's your N900 uptime?

Mine is 1 day 18 hours 13 minutes. It runs great. That is the time since I updated the CSSU. Mine rarely gets over two days as I will swap batteries in it regularly rather than put it on the charger. I have offboard chargers for my BL-5J and this is what works best for me. I can flog it hard all day and for the evening put in something fresh and continue to use it hard. I do plug it in for the five or six hours I am asleep.

When swapping batteries I have a small mental contest - can I switch batteries quickly enough to avoid the settings screen on re-boot. It adds interest to an otherwise mundane task.:)

It's getting kind of sluggish. I guess that I should reboot and upgrade to PR1.3

i would avg about a week, before i started overclocking. i now avg 4 to 5 days, but only because i keep running out of battery. ever since i started overclocking, ive been using my phone a whole bunch more. the experience is just soo much more enjoyable.

My N900 usually hits 4 or 5 days, then becomes too slow and I reboot it. I remember it hit 2 weeks once a long time ago.

I've never had to worry about this. I've sometimes taken the battery out and left it out for 2 or 3 minutes.

Does your settings reset if you leave the battery out for too long then?
