Re: n900 Voice Quality

Well my phone screen stopped working all together for some very odd reason. The sound still worked, it turned on, but the screen actually never lit up. I had only one option. Back to Nokia it is. when they fix it, I'll let you know what they determined the problems to be.

Re: n900 Voice Quality

My device was never dropped, nor does it have anything to do with other applications as all are trusted. The phone is also fully updated in terms of firmware ! But the problem is soo Weird that you feel like throwing the phone when you get some important calls !
Though everything works fine when you activate the speaker/ connect it with the BT. But when you dont have Bt around you Have to activate the speaker in PUBLIC which restricts your PRIVACY !!
If the problem persists, i need to change my mind towards a new phone as this phone is not launched in My Country and therefore i cant get it repaired under the warranty !
please help if there area any nice working soln !

Thanks
Vish

:confused:I too am another who has recieved a lemon direct from Nokia usa's store. I have the same very poor sound quality using handset or speakerphone with phone calls. 'Very surprised, as my old N95 emits much more decent sound for phone calls - could it be my carrier At&T, and should I switch to T-Moble for optimal sound quality?

Wow, there's your problem right there..... Your crappy network. AT&T is notorious for dropped calls and poor call quality. Voted again, as the worst call quality of the major U.S. carriers.

It sounds pretty clearly like a hardware fault, at least in your case.

For other people who don't have as clear a set of behaviours as you see, two quick tests spring to mind:
  1. Do you experience the volume fade problem when using the headphones that shipped with the device?
  2. Do you experience the fade problem when using it on speakerphone?

To answer both of your questions, I never used the headphones. I wish I tried that. And for speakerphone, no I don't think I experienced the problem if I remember correctly. But I no longer have the phone anymore since I sold it several months ago.
