The Snapdragon is made by Qualcomm... and Nokia's relationship with this company is another matter.

Maemo 6 devices will still have the OMAP3 SoC, while later versions (7 in 2011 and beyond) will get some multi-core love with the OMAP4 SoC.



I guess the Snapdragon is somewhat cheaper, but have you ever seen a multi-tasking device with it? N95, Omnia HD, Palm Pre Plus and N900 (of course) all have OMAP SoC:s.

The Nexus multi-tasks. The draw back with the snap dragon is the lack of dedicated graphics, as I recall -- it relies on the raw processor grunt, hence why a 1GHz snap dragon is comparable to the 600MHz OMAP
