Okay. JUUUUUST NICE. My Maemo didnt survive for updating the PR1.1. Stops to that second dot and reboot. Repeated several times and totally shuts down. Wont cover from that.

Battery removed also. Now what?

I have seen it after waking up some minutes ago. The new version of the N900 firmware (2.2009-51.1) is already available as an update through the App Manager (for the Spanish version, at least).

My N900 is being updated as I am writing this.

what is the update based on? Time settings in phone? IP GEO location? SIM Card provider?

can someone please tell me exactly what they did, as mine wont update, NSU says its up to date,, but the update shows in app manager

also what product code if possible also.

my product code 0580952
using latest ver pc suite
latest ver NSU
no ovi suite.. is that the problem??

there is hardly a fault in the way the update process for the n900 has been handled. from the release of the PR1.1 to selected community members to help beta tests the updates.. to the focus on technical issues and bug tracker. to the numbers of bugs quashed.. (inlucding some which i filed and/ or voted for) it shows that community participation and feedbacks are taken seriously. Am so proud to be a member in this communty. Well done to Petter Quim all the nokia and maemo devs and every one who with their feedbacks helped make this happen. this is a model of how an opensource project should be driven

Wait a bit for the flashable images to get to tablets-dev.maemo.org. That is if you know how to use the flasher.

(There is also the thread going around here somewhere about putting the device in r&d mode and disable some flags for one reboot and then putting it back to normal mode. But that is dangerous if you do not know what you are doing!)

Freed rootfs from 38.5 megs free to 43.5 megs free by uninstalling several packages (mc and gnutar seemed the heaviest) ...
Starting h 6.55 , from Italy...
89.5 megs to download...
Upgrade done, device rebooted, new look for icons! Everything's nice and dandy by now.
'df -h /' reports now 47 megs free :)
Reinstalling those packages from repos and from ovi store...
All right. Too silky to be true...

Feature wise I knew this, but wasn't the last update about 80 odd meg as well? Anyway, its just rebooting now. Woohoo. :D

That's true, good point. Patience is a virtue!

That's what I'd like to know, too. It's not mentioned in the changelog on the wiki. Not a good sign.
