Re: Android on N900?
So are you saying that Android 2.1 can run on the N900?
|
Re: Android on N900?
im hoping to get it that way yes. eclair(2.1) has been ported to beagleboard which is the same chipset (albeit without cell modem etc)

Re: Android on N900?
This is looking good. I'd like to test out Android (whichever version is running) on my N900. I'm juts worried about patching my kernel as it's one of titan's power kernels... Will it be ok to install using an OC'ing kernel?
Edit:I did not realise you had to compile your own patched kernel or install another one.. Is there ANY POSSIBLE way to install without a kernel patch? |
Re: Android on iPhone Happened.. Android on N900?
It's a shame it only work's on iPhone 2G at this point.. I have a spare 3G on my bedside table I use as an alarm clock!!
|
Re: Android on N900?
kernel patch will be required due to androids kernel addons. ill be addin oc options though (cant be losin my 1ghz speed)

Re: Android on N900?
The two Android on N900 threads were merged together. I'm still a newbie moderator, so sorry if I didn't do a very good job of it...

Re: Android on N900?
nesrazz posting in 4 different topics about the same thing is not going to get you help any faster. and may even stop people helping due to being very annoying. i have replied in the main nitdroid thread but im tempted to delete post now since you obviously are not readin topics and jus posting for the annoyance of it.

I know that you are interested in getting the 3g/phone calling to work. I was just wondering that aren't the maemo linux also and it's code is free or is nokia made the calling support to maemo on their own and that makes it privatecode? |
Re: Android on N900?
the phonet protocol stack is not open source nor is the interface to the cell modem, (quite a bit of maemo is actually closed source)
|
Re: Android on N900?
I thought the ofono project in Meego was suppose to remedy that?
|
Re: Android on N900?
yup which is why we have data support in nitdroid now due to a partial port of ofono thats being further worked on
