Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
I tried it with my old laptop running Windows XP and it seems to work but the text won't change on screen (I do see some activity in the WLAN led when sending data from the N900 so there should be a connection)

Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
it works on windows 7 and vista 64 bit if you install the 64 bit dlls...
then you have to press the windows button and then go back to the program... do that 200 time or so ;) you have to do that very very fast... sometime it will open the program correctly so you can see everythig... |
Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
I'm using Windows 7 32bit not 64bit. Any way to get it working there too?

So you're saying the way to get this working is just alt-tab in and out of the program hoping to fool the app? There has to be a more reliable way.

Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
It now works fine for me.. (win 7 64bit)
had to do a couple of things... I installed the app on my n900, it runs fine on my pc I extracted the zip file to a folder on my desktop, here is where I started having problems, i would run.bat but it would last half a second and closed right away, with the use of print screen and good timing i found out that it coundt find Java to run, so I went to the java folder in program files, copied java.exe to the folder i extracted the onedotzero files, and it ran... but...... black screen nothing happend.... alas I tryed hitting the Windows button and clicking the minimized icon on the icon bar until it suddenly started working.. after that all ran smooth and cool. just wanted to let you know it does run, just needs a bit of tweaks and patience |
Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
Did anyone get the onedotzero client working in Linux?
I could get it sort of running but you couldn't see any of the words from the stream and it looked kinda shonky. |

What I could see did react to the mouse and N900 though. Also had to take the xdock argument out of the script as it was stopping it running for me. |
Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
Yeah same here, I had to remove xdock as well.
I am guessing this isn't a valid argument for the linux version of Java? I know next to nothing about Java so I am at a loss why it doesn't work correctly. |

Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
I am having some trouble making this work on Mac OSX Snow Leopard. The program on my N900 runs fine, the app on my Mac also works fine. However, I am not able to change the text. I type in something, hit send and nothing happens. Followed all instructions carefully and I was not able to get it working. Any ideas?

yeah, there is a slight compatability issue between the versions in -devel and the versions in -testing. i cannot update the library in -devel to cure until i make some tweaks this end. still waiting on dayjob work to just calm down a little before i can do that. clean install from -testing works in all cases right now afaik. |
Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
Hi all,
I've just followed that stats to install the app, on PC and on N900, and cant make it working. The app closes automaticaly when i run it on N900 :\ |
Re: Using OneDotZero with N900 and Windows PC over Wifi - DIY
STEP: extract the file to the "config" folder of the onedotzero app
Is this step to copy the config file to PC, not to N900 Right? It shutdowns automatically :( EDIT: I've read carefully all posts. Just install the version from -testing :) Thanks to all. |

I managed to work the app in both win 7 and n900. prcedure i followed:
installed the app from devel (not worked. it starts and close immediately) uninstalled and installed again with disabled devel repo and rebooted. in win 7 (32bit) run "run.bat (right click and run as admin). starts apps on n900 and everuthing worked. thanks to dev. |
