Not much happening on the Berlin theme, is it? Some clouds moving and the traffic light switching. Anything I miss?

If you hang arounf for a while then the train also comes across and looking at the youtube video, daylight also changes to night.

Oh, wow. Just right now my first plane. :) The sun is also moving. :)

One small bug: Sometimes, the traffic light is only a big black rectangle.

If many objects are moving on screen hildon-home use less 40% CPU
One object use about 3-6% of CPU power.

Would love to see the falling "codes" as a wallpaper

there is anything you can imagine
have a go, the methods and code will be polished and limits etc will be found.
vlad is doing impressive things and his street scenes can only get better!

this live background stuff open up whole new interaction point on the device :)

vlad - personal request - cityscape weather could follow expected real weather, you have all the omweather codebase available ;)

I have talked with Wazd about it. He is a real rock designer. He has told to me how I can make it.

I think we will create this theme.

Yes!!!! This is the first idea which I had about LiveWallpaper. I need about three days of free time for release it.

cool, but we need BGs that we can put shortcuts etc on

leetut 2010-04-16 13:40

Re: live wallaper

i seem to remember this morning installing 3 deb files, but only had 2 styles of background, and only had 1 thing i could uninstall in app manager?
tried replacing my transitions.ini file and changing the theme but the problem remains, *** you can see from the pics its almost impossible to see the menu text now, and im sure this started when i installed the debs, did that by opening the debs with app manager, and they self installed
screens:

heh normal desktop widgets live ontop of the background ;)

leetut 2010-04-16 13:43

Re: live wallaper

part of me actually likes this, but it would be great if i could get it back the way it was before installing these debs, was sure the blur was controlled by transitions.ini but replacing it with a backup from a few weeks ago didnt work

i have some ideas about how to use it
we shall see

vasvlad 2010-04-16 13:50

Re: live wallaper

Hmmm.

I think that it not a problem of LiveWallpaper.

Vlad.

leetut 2010-04-16 14:01

Re: live wallaper

also noticing after installing:
live_wallpaper_0.1_armel.deb @4.60MB
live_wallpaper_0.2_armel.deb @3.72MB
live_wallpaper_0.3_armel.deb @3.71MB

i only have the option of uninstalling
1 file in app manager: livewallpaper @4.6MB

wondering where the other 7.43MB is and why i cant uninstall it
maybe if i can find the location i can manually delete it

cant really be anything but live wallpaper causing the problem because i havent installed anything new for weeks, and the problem only started after installing those debs

lcuk 2010-04-16 14:05

Re: live wallaper

installing a later version removes some of the earlier ones

vasvlad 2010-04-16 14:07

Re: live wallaper

Under root
dpkg -r live-wallpaper
reboot your device.

But I think yet that problem isn't in LiveWallper.
Live Wallper is a widget on Desktop, It doesn't edit system files.

Vlad.

The blur is controlled by transitions.ini.
Check that you replaced it as root.

leetut 2010-04-16 15:48

Re: live wallaper

yeah i did it with winscp so no need for root, also adjusted blur in transition control app to 100%, still no blur on task switcher or menu

lcuk 2010-04-16 15:50

Re: live wallaper

leetut,
you know using winscp to change system components causes complications and you ARE logging in as root to do it.
since nobody else has had problems and you are the only person mucking with transitions and have transitions issues i would hazard that those or something along those lines are the cause more than anything.

Re: live wallaper

just an idea, would it be possible to have some realtime transitions? For example, a sunrise and sunset that changes through different stages when the clock hits key points such as 6am, 12pm and 6pm for dawn, midday and dusk?

Those planes look sweet!

I was wondering how difficult it would be to intergrate the accelerometre into these live wall papers? May be have the old "Beer" app as a background or a marbles/balloon theme for a Real-time interactive wallpaper?

That would waste a lot of battery imo
