Re: Theme bling !

Some nice elements here and there, but its just way too "bling" for me. I think its infact "blingified" to death :D

not that i know of, wish someone would, i dont have a clue how to do it. but this is pretty low risk stuff, your just swapping one image for another, and as long as you back up the images your about to change nothing will go wrong. then if you dont like what youve changed simply change back.

I appreciate that... But the problem is I'll have to do it using the X Term, folder by folder, which is a pain. I don't have a wifi and therefore, cannot ssh the files using the PC. :( It's not that I'm lazy, but I've already messed up with some image files in the default themes because I wanted to change some aspects... Don't want to do it again :)

Guys, c'mon.. someone please create a package for this. I'm sure it's not very time consuming. I'm a complete noob myself, else I'd have tried it myself.

Re: Theme bling !

I could build this them into a package but I prefer to teach people to fish then to just give them a fish. This guide will walk you through how to do a proper theme. It will be optified and fully functional it will how ever force a little more work on you because it looks like you edited each png files in gimp or photoshop. Doing it this way will require you to redo your theme in a template file.(Their is a way to rebuild a template from the sliced images just never done it) or you can use pypackage on your N900. With it you will take your src folder and modify the script that comes with it to build a .deb or source package to upload to extras-devel. I would suggest learning to use MADDE but if you just can't do it use pypackage. I use both if I am just doing a small change to them and do not need to reslice my template I just use pypackage to rebuild it. I hope this helps you. As always I will answer any messages if you have trouble. I average about 15 PMs a day from new theme designers.

it will take some root space like 4 mb it did for me!!!

Re: Theme bling !

i think people would be happy to pay $1 or so for it to be packaged but looking at iTunes store and Ovi, you'd be hard pressed to squeeze any more out of people as I suppose it will end up on extras packaged by someone else if you take the p155.

Re: [WIP] Theme bling !

Whether everything will be fine after installing the new update?
In particular the virtual keyboard - it has a new look?

Re: [WIP] Theme bling !

I thought I would add my two pennys worth here.

This is without doudt a very nice theme.

I would love to install it.

There does however seem to be a bit of self righteous attitude in this forum as a whole.

I would love to have the time and resources and knowledge to learn how to do all this stuff. Programing, making and using various apps, themes, feeds etc etc etc. It would give me no end of pleasure.

However I am 57 Yeras old and have to do other things to pay the bills so dont have the time or enegry to sit and start school again after a days work.

This forum is I guess for techie types and all the best to them and may they continue but dont tell us non-techie types (end users) to learn how to do it themselfves cos that what they did as some of us dont have the time energy or ability.

Guess I will have to wait for this theme til its a .deb file (what ever that is)
