Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

i get the error
"incompatible application package" when trying to install onto my n900.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

New version looks good.

Tweet with location and see location in the tweets work perfect.
But you say that the "Remember me" has fixed no?

Because in my case is not working. I close via pressing close button in the app manager because in the application there's no close button and when I reopen I have to enter again the credentials.

Testing all the other features seems to work. I have some error of timeline error update and after the application crash but also the Twitter web have problems refreshing and I have some Internal Server Error from them.

Good job!!

Hello,

Remember me will save your information after you successfully login with the checkbox checked. Next time you logout or exit application and open it again, your username and password will be there.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

"Remember Me" doesn't seem to be holding the login credentials still.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I can't install - complaining of a missing dependency: libqt4-maemo5-webkit...any idea how to get it?

lexi1986 2010-03-29 22:50

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

also here the remember me is not working. if you have problems installing, in terminal apt-get -f install worked for me.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I can confirm that after removing Tweego-0.1 and installing Tweego-0.2 that the remember me function doesn't work. Haven't tried restarting the device, but i'll try that abit later!

rodavelino 2010-03-29 23:07

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Sorry guys we were testing as root, now the remember it's working with user privileges. I uploaded a new package TweeGo 0.2.1.

You need to install via the command line. Not sure if you need to be root or not, but save it the the N900 folder, cd into MyDocs and try:

dkpg -i tweego-0.2.deb

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I cant install the new one, it has starting giving me the error of the missing dependency: libqt4-maemo5-webkit.

Yet I have previously had 0.1 and 0.2 installed! Confused!

0.2 had the same dependency! that is weird. Did you install libqt4-maemo5-webkit before installing 0.2?

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Any clue on whether and when identi.ca support will work?

m165 2010-03-29 23:28

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

No i never. All I installed was that Qt Weather app. I tried installing 0.2 again, and it gave me that error, yet the app still installed and worked fine, but with 0.2.1 it doesn't install properly, and clicking on the tweego icon does nothing. I'll have a look around the forum to find out how to install it, then hopefully it'll work!

netoak 2010-03-29 23:31

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

did you try execute as root
apt-get install libqt4-maemo5-webkit
to resolve the dependency and then execute
dpkg -i tweego-0.2.1.deb
??

m165 2010-03-29 23:50

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I did "apt-get -f install". That installed the dependencies, then to double check i tried "apt-get install libqt4-maemo5-webkit" and it says i have the newest version.

I uninstall tweego, then install 0.2, then install 0.2.1, no errors this time, however the app still wont open. I've tried re-booting and it doesn't help. It's odd because if i only install 0.2, it opens up!

EDIT:

Ok, it now works! I re downloaded 0.2.1 and installed it again, and it worked straight away... I must have had a corrupt download! Remember me now works, great job!

One thing I'd like to see is that when you type the password, the character is shown briefly before turning into an astrix (*). I have a password using captitals and numbers, and it's harder to tell if I have entered it correctly. Obviously with remember me, it only needs to be entered once, but it's just a nice thing to have.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Just installed 0.2.1 and really liking it so far. I tried tweeting with location but it displays my location as somewhere in the ocean just off the coast of Africa...I'm in the UK :) Apart from that it's a very solid app...I reckon it's ready for extras-devel.

install rootsh from application manager if you haven't yet.
open x-terminal
type in:
Code:

root
apt-get install tweego

It will ask you to install some libqt packages.
confirm with y.
have fun.

My root has only 21 Mb free and it says after this operation additional 25.6 mb of additional space will be used. I guess i need to empty my root

root is not space.
the 25,6mb are mostly stored in the 2GB application memory.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Is my question too stupid to not deserve a response?

I tried to find a page like a blog or something to post this question. I could post a feature request on the application page but it is no use if you (the developers) don't plan it.

(the question is, when identi.ca support will be added, it at all?)

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Another bug is that the time is in cet and it s not correct except countries which have cet time. Nice addition would be the choice to what time you want and winter-summer time also. Here in Greece tweego time is 3 hours behind local.

Immediately after your install fails try:

apt-get install -f

This worked for me.

Hello Patola,

No, it's not stupid at all.
We never thought about adding support to others microblogging services, we're gonna discuss about that. Thanks for your request.

My auto update notification found this perfectly. Updated it without a hitch. Login goes smoothly now as does remembering my credentials. Thanks a ton!

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Thanks, rodavelino. You see, other twitter clients also support identi.ca, like mauku and witter. It's an useful feature, because identi.ca (I think the name of its engine is "laconi.ca") uses a FOSS framework for building a twitter-like service and that alone attracts many FOSS fans. A few of them use only identi.ca.

I don't mind that as much as them - I have an account on twitter - but I really like to follow them.

Thanks for your response!

Adding identi.ca support to witter was pretty easy, slightly more tricky is supporting multiple accounts at the same time.
Supporting identi.ca is as simple as switching the base URL on your requests, the whole point is that it's twitter compatible so everything else stays the same.

I had a play with tweego this morning, very nice UI, you should post some tutorials on doing the interesting little annimations and such to encourage others to develop similarly slick looking apps.
