Re: What field do you work in?

I'm an electrical engineer specializing in power systems, and I've been using Linux on my home computer for about five years (going on 6) now.

My skill level with Linux: 2 (I can install it, configure it to suit others' needs, and provide basic troubleshooting).

The grassy knoll? Does that qualify as a field?

I use maemo and do know linux, so 3/5.

Re: What field do you work in?

My fields are wide open spaces. I'm a professional shaman, AKA mental health chaplain (The mad vicar).

Maemo skills: programming, code etc -5. Actual usage, probably about 3. Which makes me a -2 on aggregate. (Don't put aggregate on my field, please, it'll inhibit the plants).

I suppose I should be picnicing in woods rather than fields.

I started with a Nokia 770 (maemo1?) and made all steps to diablo. As I don't have a maemo5 device, my maemo skills are 4 of 5 :D

Am I the only Petroleum Engineer here?
So I actually work in fields, only that they are Oil Fields :)

And I'll steal Switch_'s level n000000000b!

Programmer as day job.
I started with n770 and I had all of them. I love my N900, almost replaced my laptop. Probably a 4 for maemo.

Wood working and electronics as hobby and extra money.

Unix Systems Engineer - AIX/Solaris/Linux
3/5 with Maemo. Just starting to learn C++ now, so I don't have any develoment skills, but I feel comfortable working with the command line on the N900.

I'm a mechanical engineer and I test software and hardware on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Its fun, but when tests get boring I play Duke Nukem on my N900.:D

1.5 on the scale.

Re: What field do you work in?

I too am in the field of dreams, but I find the second question to be relative.

Relative to tmo: an arrogant 4.8
Relative to garage and other community devs: a conservative 2.5
Relative to Nokia, Mozilla and GNU/Linux devs: a 2.4 on my best day

Marketing - Brand Manager

Have owned, manipulated and enjoyed every commercially available Maemo device since the first one, but still will only give myself a 2 out of 5. I barely scratch the surface compared to some of y'all.

Why should all the MeeGo and firmware moaners have the fun?

Those threads have been "duplicating" like horny rabbits!
