You didn't create this in a jokes forum.. nor did you even give any indication that it was a joke.

I'm pretty sure there are people who might have been misled by the context of your posting, despite your very recent claims otherwise. Whether or not someone could actually carried out such a purchase with you isn't relevant but it's possible--given the initial tone of the postings and there are much less cynical individuals out there who DO get scammed every day as a fact.

The attempt is hardly jovial and it's not appreciated, despite the fact that we had fun at your expense this time.

This isn't proof of anything--but if it's true, you might have have an attempt to commit fraud on your hands.. and your backtracking doesn't instill confidence in your alleged story of 'joking around.' :P

Guys (and moderators) , isn't allowing the site to be used to sell things dangerous? We could end up swamped with, shall I say, suspicious threads. I would hate for someone to end up out of pocket.

Any thoughts? Personally I'm getting buried with my n900, anyone want to buy it? Tough, its mine :)

Y'all can't see a true opportunity if it hits you right smack dab in your face! an N900 for GBP 10?!?!? I'll buy a container of those with the money I've made with the help of a nigerian prince...

Seriously though, I think he wants to deal with someone outside of UK to distance himself further from the target. That way he could very well send you a brick (which the N900 is close in size ;) ) and get a mail proof to give to paypal. Plus it'd be harder for you to pursue him due to distance and costs involved, etc.

My mate nearly got scammed by this guy. I saw the previous thread for £210 and suggested he emailed my friend. My friend sent the payment yesterday and today my mate called and said to me that he said that the item was sold. Luckily, for my friend, he had a payment hold. (payment wont be released until shipment confirmed)

actually the thread you saw was not a scam it was a genuine post i was actually selling this item on ebay as well and your mate got to me to late i didnt receive no money any way
