thanks for the answers again!

a few more questions:

1) what happens with a missed call/sms- theres an led blinking, but isnt there a notification on the homescreen per default? someone here suggested that you could only see the notiification n submenus..i however saw screenshots with a yellow popup...does that disappear entirely? confused here...

2) the nokia n95 had a minor problem- if someone called several times it would only list the most recent call of that person and not all...does the n900 list all calls of the same person or only the most recent in the missed call log?

3) if i open an sms, does it state the time it was received or is that info only accessible via "options etc", the n95 had that problem

4) anyone know the cheapest available offer for the n900 in the uk (online), cheapest i found was 395pounds..

the LED blinks when you have a missed call, sms, voicemail, email etc. and now with this new app you can customize the colors of the LED, so I have different colors assigned to IM, sms, email calls etc. The yellow pop up stays for a few seconds but then goes away. And in the top right corner you'll see 2 squares in blue indicating u have some notification. You can also install callnotify app, it basically shows a little indicator if you missed a call, received an sms, IM or email

the call log lists all the calls u missed, recieved etc. you can install extended call log app which gives you detailed info calls missed/recieved/dialed to contact members

when you receive an sms it will state the time it was recieved

sorry dunno about cheapest n900 in UK

I agree, not the best of apps as it shows my ugly mug, but it does show hardware wise the thing works as advertised. There's just little software which uses it. Most notably Skype.

get a gmail account, log into IM via gtalk and have someone video call you from their gmail account chat not googletalk chat. it's neat and front camera works :)

I have bought my N900 in march and it is April almost may now and I LOVE IT yes there are things that can be better and it will come.

I install fmms and it works fine

i love the camera

Yes the battery life kinda bites but if you shut down non-essential things like WI-fi (if u are not using it) Bluetooth ( if you are not using it)

Other then that I LOVE MY N900

And Since Meego WILL be also for the N900 then only greater things will be happening for the phone
