The biggest whitegoods retailer in Oz is now advertising the N900 for sale so it would seem logical if HK got an updated version of the FW we'd get something similar here. I called one of the bigger stores for info and they said their stock was supposed to land today.

Although the stock is coming from a third party holding company it's fully supported by Nokia and not a grey import. Plus I can't imagine the retailer would be selling an out of date product as they're reknowned for playing hardball with suppliers.

So hopefully - imminent is my guess.

so anyways PR 1.2 will be released in May and whose of you who needs evidence here they are

1. Currently there is close beta test of Ovi Suite 2.2 which supports N900 ( please don't ask me to elaborate more on this because I've signed NDA )

2. Nokia is actively promoting Qt 4.6 and by the time N8 gets released they have to have some apps. N8 come in August so ideally they would need 1-2 month in advance

3. Nokia is recruiting more developers and promotes simple app creation for Ovi store

I don't know about you, but I never SIGNED crap, now I agreed to it, sure, but a Nokia person never quite came to my door and had me sign an agreement. Yes, I'm on the closed beta test. Yes, I'll keep to the NDA, but really, there isn't much to talk about that I've seen. Then again, I never really used the 2.1 Ovi Suite either. I just wish they'd port it to Linux (using QT would allow them to do so easily enough).

Actually scratch that. I think it'd be sweet if they had either opened the APIs or otherwise allowed people to create an Open Ovi Suite..

Hope it comes before end of the month. If it doesn't I'll sadly have to move on. Yes I know it'll come eventually but my faith in Nokia is slipping.

Now when PR1.2 is so late Nokia probadly will wait to June when Apples , closed crap IphoneOS 4, will get released.

Nokia will also release first version of Meego that week, with latest Flash in both Fremantle 1.2 and Meego ;-)

That way apple will not get all media attention.

I don't think they want to compare features added in iPhoneOS 4.0 to Maemo 1.2. That would just look fugly.

I don't want to guess because the situation is not making me laugh, but makes me cry. I know that I have a buggy phone. I could not imagine it when I bought it.
Now they will release Meego. BUT THEY CAN FORGET IT IF THEY THINK THAT MY UNSATISFACTION WITH N900 WILL MAKE ME BUY THE NEW PHONE WITH MEEGO.
I cannot say that I am satisfied with n900 because it has nice hardware. Software makes hardware work. Without a good software I cannot appreciate good hardware. What prevents me from throwing n900 out of the window is the fact that I spent a lot of money!

we aren't getting PR 1.2 nor Meego ever.

We will be getting Maemo PR 1.5 which is coming in august now
