To all people here who have this problem. Could you help yourself and list applications/widgets etc. that you have installed so we can try to locate what causes this.

Apps? Whoa, this will take a while: 3G/2G dual mode; AdBlock Plus; Angry Birds + Lvel Pack 1; BatteryGraph; Blubbles; Bounce; Catorise; e**(j pi); Extended call log; Extra decoders support; Firefox; Flashlight; FM Radio Player; fMMS; Foreca; Freecell; Gonvert; Gweled; Harmony (theme); Headphone daemon; Labirinth Lite; Lybniz, Martian Memory; Mozilla Runtime; Ogg Support; Pidgin IM + Extra protocols; Pixelpipe; Recaller; Brightness Applet; Solitaire; spbbrainevolution; storage usage; SuperTux, Milky Way wallpaper; wifi switcher; witter; Yellow notes applet. Not too many, nothing out of the ordinary. Please don't ask me to reflash because others did it too and they're still experiencing this bug. |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
@sanki,
About reflashing. YES some people have flashed but not entirely. Only rootfs and they probably have restored their APPS from backup so that pretty much ruins whole debugging process. So first just disable all the widgets from all desktops and reboot and try to reproduce the issue. Please bear in mind that debugging takes sometimes quite a lot of time. Problems do not appear in one day or so so be patient and systematic. |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
have done all this.flashed fiasco/emmc,dont restore backup and this 2 times.and its still there it makes me mad because i have missed some really important calls because of this crap.one time my friend call me and he says he has let it ring about 6 times but my phone has ringed just one time:(

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
attila,
So you have flashed fiasco and vanilla what did you do after that? Restore contacts and calendar entries? Do you have micro sd? Did you enable official widegets? Did you enable email? Did you enable IM contacts? |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
"ubut donts works" what do you mean by that?
AS I SAID disable all widgets PERIOD. Or better uninstall them. From FMTX bug conversation: https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/ind...1126&atid=4220 |

Then I have installed Foreca once again (no recaller because I realized I don't really need it), and everything was fine. Will let you know if the bug shows up once again. |

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
There is a bug report for this:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10567 I contributed with some of your statements. Please vote for the bug but don't add any comments like "yeah, it's really annoying!" |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
Same Problem here.
One more proof that the n900 is an internettablet and no phone :( |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
its a bug that will get fixed in 4 years with pr1.2.1

i managed to get a video shot of the glitch...
maybe somebody could add this to https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10613 , 'cause i don't have a bugzilla account http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFgM5ZsCM6I |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
simpu,
Good stuff! Making account in bugzilla is quite easy. .edit Also i can reproduce this now. After reading people comments i first thought that this happens even when you are using n900. But this is specifically related to proximity sensor. ..edit Or maybe not. Now it functions normally. Damn. This could be pretty hard one to reproduce. |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
I have added it to the bug report.

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
Meanwhile could one workaround to this be that you set phone app to be always in landscape?
|
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
thanks to simpu for providing video of the screen glitch
that is exactly the same as what happens on my n900 |

and i just noticed that the landscape-screen is the "shrinked" one on the glitch-screen. didn't knew that before :p |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
Resume:
Bug occurs only when: a. Incoming call b. Screen is locked. c. Proximity sensor is covered (e.g Phone in a pocket) .....anyone to contribute? |

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
@simpu: you are awesome!
@slender: you seem to know what you're talking about. there is something wrong with the widgets. I have noticed that the bug has appeared once again after re-installing Foreca. Everything was OK, but this morning I've reproduced the bug several times. |

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
I'd like to change my vote from No to Yes.
I haven't really seen it, but it happened to me today. Only once, though, and then it was gone. So no biggie, but I'm technically affected, so, for the record, was 109-13, it's now 110-12. Also, mine didn't look like Simpu's shot, my screen only moved for a little, and then fixed itself after some maybe 300 ms. Given the fact that my phone is always-portrait, the flipping might have masked it thus far. Also, it happens with high uptime or high system load. Fresh booted OS is fine. |
Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
Tried to re-flash. So virgin clean device...got this too! Not mayby as bad but it's there.

Re: Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
I have noticed that the incoming call in this case is not marked as Rejected or Answered, but similar to Silenced. When I end up to Conversations app in answering call it is yet possible to answer to an incoming call - I close Conversations app, open a Phone app and can answer the same call which I missed due to screen glitch.
Screen glitch has been occured when Phone app is set to be in Portrait or Automatic without auto rotation. Haven't tried Landscape mode yet as it's unconvinient to hold the phone in this way. PS Apps installed only from maemo-extras |

What do you mean sideways? Portrait is the same as every other phone on Earth.
