i have just installed it from the pelota website, you have to click on the word 'n900' and not the download icon otherwise nothing will happen.

Also you will need to reboot your device once you've installed it.

Apps kept/removed to install application...

Conversation - kept
Sms Counter - don't have
Swipe Desktop - don't have
Stop watch - removed
operator widget - don't know what that is lol
irreco - never had lol
Battery widget - removed
Date today - kept
Desktop Command - kept
Eyes Widget - removed
Foreca Weather Widget - kept
Personal Countdown - kept
FMTX Widget - removed
world Clock - kept

it looks like a neat widget. i'm hoping that they develop it after the worldcup so that we can manually select which leagues we want results from. I.e premiership scores, la liga etc

All in all, takes up a minor amount of space, just hoping it works on the weekend!

Installed fine. Had to reboot to get it in the list of widgets.

here's what I did (maybe it helps someone):

- install wget from cli
- install pelota if downloaded .deb file!!!
- reboot phone
- widget was on one of my homescreens

The pity is that the configuration menu is just an About page. I thought I could at least set connection typ and notifications there.

After trying a few ways to install this it is now 'finally installed'!

1) Had to: apt-get install wget
2) Download .deb file to N900
3) Uninstall irreco widget
4) Run .deb file via 'Cute Explorer'
5) Installed and widget placed on desktop without reboot

its nothing like that i need it !! i was just helping and messing around thats it !! who is gonna miss those live matches?!! aint me!! gotta me someone busy with work !! so for them :D

EDIT: ok all those other got installed except for Desktop Swipe Count and Irreco Widget !!

I still cant install after removing irreco widget, disabled devel and testing, cant install from website or downloaded deb file, still same unable to install message

Just noticed something with this app. As you can see from earlier screenshots posted the football scores have a darkshaded background so that it stands out.

However i recently noticed that mine doesn't have this anymore? It just displays the text with no darkshaded background.

Has this happened to anyone, or can suggest any solutions.

Have tried rebooting, and re-installing etc

ok it seems they are testing it and it looks sweeet it says the player who scored and the time it did and it sound kinda cool and shows the led blinking in white

It seems that some can install and some can't. It needs latest firmware
It was a very straightforward install for me.
Are you doing it from the N900 browser?

Are you getting the qt4-homescreen-loader error? Swipe count also seems to give that error, check anaskr's posts earlier in the thread. For me though, the problem was with wget, I had to remove it and then reinstall it to get this to work.

are usure this is a test and not the app going crazy cause i have the same and its keep going on led light blinks also white when goal is made player number shown

but there are no games at this moment?and if its a test i hope it is!

Mine now says no Games today. I now don't know what is more exciting, the world cup or waiting to see a goal update on my N900.

I think I may have this bug bad :o

slightly annoying it vibrates even though i am set to silent and vibrate unticked. hopefully becomes an option as its a pretty good widget.

I got it to install just fine, right now its been showing the same two games for the past day or two. Just checking it now it says "no games today" hmm....

Anyone know how to turn off the annoying ringing and vibrating?
For some reason, I'm assuming testing, my phone has been going off, informing me that RSA were up Mexico 6-0 before resetting... I've disabled the widget for now, but I hope this gets sorted soon

I'm from Pelota's widget team and we are testing the application right now.

This is why you are seeing the scores updated every time, but we'll stop the tests soon. Disable the widget for now and restart friday (06/11)

Hi,

We've tested the application on PR1.1.1 and PR1.2 and it works fine.

But we have been updated the .install file yesterday in order to add the maemo extras repository and stop the error messages in the installation.

Could you try to install again?

Remove+reinstall wget before installing pelota. You should get the qt4-... error if you try to install the .deb via dpkg -i on xterm.

Looks good.ringin and vibration.wud b good to turn this off.vibs dont turn off.there a way to get more info abt wot is goin on in the match thru the widget? anyway this is a nice little widget. wish there were more widgets like this.

Really sorry. I have just see that the .install file in the server is out of date.

I'm sending to you the .install that should work. Please, remove the .txt extension and try install the Pelota widget using this file. I'll update the .install file on the server as soon as possible.

Holy crap this app has been going crazy the last hour or two. They've been testing it with goals (for the SA side not the MX side) and its been beeping very annoyingly for the last 2 hours. I hope this testing ends soon.

We are testing the widget right now. Could you disable the widget for now and restart soon? These tests are needed before the world cup start.

Why did south Africa beat Mexico on this widget? I thought the Wc hadn't started or does the widget see into the future. Screenshot in a minute
