Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
Thanks for the effort! Interesting to know one have to pin the version otherwise apt-get automatically restores it. No wonder I still got a call ui glitch the other day even though I have installed your previous patch.
By the way, the version number is 2.2.138 but I guess you have merged all changes in 139 and 140? Asking because PE1 release is being prepared and might be based on 139 or 140..... so I would suggest using the master trunk since there will be no upstream dev anyway? Edit: PE1 pre-release is in the log file of Modest instead of hildon-desktop. |

Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
You can put transition.ini file in the usr/share/themes/ in the folder of your curent theme to keep your original transition.ini file intact! restart after!

It's the latest commit, the version number was lowered so it wouldn't cause conflicts, kinetic was just a filename change so it wouldn't overwrite my previous fix.

Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
Hi there,
I applied both the Faster kinetic scrolling patch and the transitions.ini change. It works great. But when browsing applications now, the wallpaper is not darkened anymore, which makes it really difficult to read fonts and light icons. In my case, and with my wallpaper (the default one, with water), it was far more readable before. I don't know which one of the patch or of the transitions.ini changed it. Does anyone know how I can change this setting back? I just want to enable darkening of the wallpaper, not to revert the changes in the scrolling behaviour I made, if possible. |

Or, reinstalling hildon-desktop (even this fixed one) should revert it, too, AFAIK. |

If you do not want to install that you can edit transition file by hand: http://wiki.maemo.org/Customizing_Maemo#Transitions Needs root access first. |
Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
Thanks to both of you. I installed transitioncontrol, but what is the option changing the wallpaper brightness when browsing applications? I changed the blur one as you said, but it didn't change the wallpaper brightness when browsing applications. The only thing it changed (as far as I know) is the disappearance speed of opened apps thumbnails when switching.

HI!
How to revert to the original hildon desktop! For me, sometimes after a rebooting none of the widgets react and the shortcuts of the applications are not working. Only the shortcuts of the contacts on the desktop seems to work. |

Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
I used hildon-desktop_2.2.138-1+0m5_armel.deb from “Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2” post (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...esktop&page=11)
and I wasn't have any problems! Now, installing this new hildon-desktop_kinetic_2.2.138-1+0m5_armel.deb my desktop shortcuts for applications and my widgets are freezing from time to time. Also the menu for adding shotcuts, widgets (from the desktop) is not shown when this happens. I managed to reinstall the hildon-desktop_2.2.138-1+0m5_armel.deb from http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...esktop&page=11 and now I wait to see if this happens again. Meantime I ask you please to see if there is not a problem in this latest package. Thanks! |

Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
@puiradu
What repositories you have enabled in application manager? .edit And to me package from this thread work fine....as you can see it probably works to most of people, because we have not seen clusterfck in this thread after mohammadAG released package. |
Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
Nokia Applications
Nokia System Software Updates Ovi maemo.org Opera and Sygic mobile maps Anyway if it's not the package what can be then? And why i can't reinstall using that command? |
Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
Hmmm. IIRC hildon-desktop should be in ssu repository and you have it enabled. Something is blocking it and i do not have enough knowledge to give any suggestions.
this is even stupid to ask but you have naturally shut down your device and took battery of and restarted it? |
Re: [Announce] Faster kinetic scrolling in app menu (PR1.2)
i did! "I managed to reinstall the hildon-desktop_2.2.138-1+0m5_armel.deb from http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...esktop&page=11 and now I wait to see if this happens again."
maybe the pin block the update echo "Package: hildon-desktop Pin: release a=unstable Pin-Priority: 1001" >> /etc/apt/preferences there is a reverse command to unpin it? |
