I still have problems login in - claims to have problems with the OAuth.

Just a theory is that I have the "=" character in my password. i have the same problem in "Witter" actually which made me aussume you have a common Oauth library that has this issue. I use TweetDeck and Trillian5 on PC (which handles the credentials properly) and I can also use the web interface on both the phone and PC and phone with no problem, so there definitely is something with my username/password combination that is specifically wrong here.

Does anyone know the status of the qt web runtime issues - the lack of working hw keyboard is a blocker for me ... even though it's not an app issue

This is a brilliant app and once the QT bug for the hardware keyboard is fixed, then it will be the best Twitter app on N900.

Unfortunately until the bug is fixed I have resorted back to Khweeteur, Witter has gone down the wrong path with recent changes and its current version doesn't do it for me.

a few days ago i started having a problem when scrolling in twimgo, see screenshots
have uninstalled and installed newer version, have also reinstalled qtwrt, i thought it might have something to do with some adjustments in swappolube so i uninstalled that and no difference.
anyone else experienced similar or have any suggestions?

cant install.. I have web runtime but it says "installation og web app failed"

when i try to install qt web i get the following missing packages
libqtm-bearer ,contacts,locations,messaging

any idea how to install these missing app packages?

You can drag the file into your N900 and use the File Manager to double-click on the file.

Remember, you need QT Web Runtime to use TwimGo so install that first.

I just installed Twimgo and it looks good, thanks! However, I don't seem to be able unfollow some one. I click his tweet, click the profile and there I am offered to follow him, although I already follow and would rather unfollow. Anyone else experiencing the same?

It will be good if the developer is able to test TwimGo against the newly leaked firmware 20.2101.36-2 that has QT WRT packages.

Twimgo has gone missing from my installable apps list with every App Manager out there.

What's the name of the package so I can get it with XTerm?

EDIT: Okay getting it through website now.

Hello guys.
I use twimgo as my primary twitter client and i really love it. I was wondering if there was a way to disable auto update while i am reading tweets. When i scroll down and press more to read more tweets, sometimes the client auto updates to show new tweets. As a result i have to scroll back down again to press more nd so on.
Also, somehow i cannot place the twimgo shortcut on my desktop. When i try to select the apps to place on the desktop... the twimgo shortcut never shows up.
Any ideas?

Yes a button to disbale the autoupdate would be really nice.
I just uninstalled my old version of Twimgo, and now getting "unable to install TwimGo" when trying to install the new version.
Could someone help me ?

You can check the "Problems" tab in AppMan when trying to install. I suspect you are missing required packages. Install them using X-Term("apt-get install package_name" - you can read required packages name in "Problems") and then install TwimGo again.

Just reinstalled qt-wrt but I'm still unable to install it.

The new QT WRT is only for PR1.3, have you updated to PR1.3 ?

I have installed qtwrt 1.1.0 several times, finally it said install was successful.
Then I installed TwimGo, first time it failed, second time successful.

But I cannot find it anywhere! It is not in the app menu, and I cannot find it elsewhere.

I deinstalled TwimGo and installed anew. Still nowhere, not in the menu.

What is the correct way to call it on command line?

i also have the same problem when using the new qtwrt (i'm in pr1.3).
i don't know why, it only shown the twimgo widget.
then i try to use the old qtwrt (the qtwrt-experimental)

here the step i used:
first, uninstall twimgo from app-manager, then do the command below (in root mode)
apt-get purge qtwrt
apt-get autoremove
dpkg -P `dpkg -l | grep ^rc | awk '{ print $2 }'`
apt-get install qtwrt-experimental

after that, tap the TwimGo.wgt file to install twimgo.

i hope it would help you to use twimgo again

I tried removing the QT WRT but even that fails. says it has dependencies on packages that are not installed. The purge does not work either. :(

I tried it this way, had to disable extras-devel in order purging of qtwrt to work. Afterwards I reenabled extras-devel.

I did not use your second purge cmd as shown (the complex line) because the expression inside the backquotes returned a list of some twenty package names, many good ol' friends... was not sure I wanted to purge all those. The only pkg related to wrt was the widget, which I then purged manually.
(Also I could not find out the exact meaning of the dpkg status flag 'rc'. It's even not in the manpage. Apparently everybody except me knows what the flags mean...)

The final cmd apt-get install qtwrt-experimental led me into exact dependency hell where I was before, downloading the exact same libs and also could not install 3 of them for the same reasons as with qtwrt.

Facit is, I still have no TwimGo...

On the twimgo.com site it states "install Qt Web Runtime", people here are talking about QT WRT, what is the difference between the two, as both can be found under the aplication menus

For info I have two N900 running twimgo 2.0.13 just fine under PR1.3 with Qt Web Runtime 1.1tp-3 installed

could you post the result of "dpkg -l | grep wrt" command?

if we enabled the extras-devel repo, we would find 2 different version of Qt Web Runtime: 1.1tp3 and 1.1.0.
fyi, although those are the same package, Appman doesn't show it as a same package, but as a different package, that could bring conflict result if we try to install both version. Same package with different version will show as update version. or if we don't install it yet, it only show the last/newest version.

mine using the 1.1tp3 version (same version with post #67). what version is yours?

The "dpkg -l | grep wrt" was of great help. Then I purged all five packages piece by piece until I got it in the right sequence, and finally that dpkg cmd showed nothing anymore.
(I think that is crucial, everything wrt must be completely purged before installing another version.)

Then I compared the output of the 2 simulation cmds:

this worked for me as well. going through and purging each individual wrt file then reinstalling the 1.1tp-3 worked perfectly. i had an error installing twimgo through xterm but it installed just fine through appman by clicking on it instead.

Leave TwimGo open, set auto-refresh to 5 minutes, disable your data connection or WiFi, connection dialog pops up, leave another 5 minutes, new connection dialog will STACK over the previous, continue leaving and more stacked dialogs pile up.

Qt or TwimGo issue? Needs to be fixed, regardless.

I would guess that this is a Qt Web Runtime issue. It shouldn't stack the connection windows this way.

TwimGo.wgt is 326453 bytes, and "sum" gives "10380 319"

I have qtwrt-experimental installed. Ideas?

the wgt is not corrupted. i think the wgt is not compatible with your current qtwrt-experimental.
upgrade your qtwrt into version 1.1.0, using this step:
  • uninstall qtwrt-experimental
  • then install qtwrt

Package qtwrt-experimental is not installed, so not removed....

I also tried manually installing each missing dependency but each needed another.
qtwrt needed wrt and wrt-api; wrt-api needs libwrt-api1; libwrt-api1 needs libqtm-contacts and libqtm-messaging plus a bunch of others.

It is clear now that this is not a TwimGo issue but any advice of how to resolve or where to go to get help much appreciated.
