it works, but imho is extremely laggy

Nope still not working. I was able to login when I used the alternative login method which sends the password in plain text, but this takes me to the mobile website not the application UI.

no idea what could be happening..
but i'm kinda having a few problems of my own don't know if it has anything to do with the app...the thing is all rebooted my phone and all my shortcuts and widgets disappeared, and now hildon-home is running at 100%...major battery drain...

It makes my phone real slow . . . hope this will be solved in the final release. Like this idea and looks very promising! Hope there will be photo support because you can't make a new album straight from the N900 . . .

A very classy application (albeit cryptic name) with great potential. Right now the feature set is very limited but hopefuly the developer is working on and we can expect a great app like TwimGO.

for all people who wants to know how to post videos or pics or even links, we all know N900 has integrated sharing system for anything, and applies to facebook. please use this method to post in ur facebook.

The loading is not fast but not slow either. The only thing I observe is when task switching out of Kasvopus, the CPU usage tends to increase momentarily. In my case, the CPU reached as high as 50% and the system does feel slower if I left Kasvopus running in the background for a while.

BTW, for those of you feeling the text size is way too small, you can go to
/opt/usr/share/Kasvopus/qml/Kasvopus/components, and edit "HomeList.qml" and "StatusView.qml" files. Search for "font" and locate

Change the font.pixelSize to the size you prefer (i use 24) and save the file. The new font size is in effect after re-starting the app.

1. is this app only a status read/writer with like/dislike function
2. is this app also a photo, friend, etc. viewer?

Brilliant to see this, even though early days.

It seems somewhat slow to startup, but once started is slick. Obviously limited function for now, but that's fine & as expected.

It's just an early beta, which means it is no where near ready yet. It's being developed by the same person who made TwimGo (currently the most feature-packed Twitter client available for the N900) so you can expect it to be good when it's ready.

I think it is unfair to make baseless accusations. The dev (like most devs in this community) is giving up his time for free, if you don't like what you see, don't use it.

it's hardly a baseless accusation. I installed it and ran it, its exactly the same as the mobile version of facebook, except more laggy. Thats what i based my accusation on.

Laggy doesn't mean you can't thrust it. It's beta so if you don't like it, don't use it. Better be thankful to those guys who spend some time to make apps for us.

Absolute rubbish. The code is public. Has nothing to do with the mobile site. All it does is try to look like the facebook "theme" so people get a familiar feeling.

hey installed kasvopus two days ago and it is really nice...

BUT... Yesterday i installed CSSU... Since then kasvopus AND twimgo doesn't work any more...

what can i do? these two apps are really important for me

Installed Kasvopus yesterday on my device (PR1.3, standard kernel) and it worked right out of the box without installing anything extra like QT 2.7.2.

I did install the QT Hotfix package afterward which improved the image loading and eliminated the process being left running bug after closing the app.

So far no problems what so ever.

they launches for a few seconds with a black screen and then goes off...

don't know what details also could be helpful... just want these nice apps working again :)
