They worked for me. I had Nitdroid N11 installed already so I ignored two lines (cd /home & mkdir /and) as they already existed.

Everything else works fine.

Thanks xur17 for the Wiki Update. Thanks E-Yes for the N12 update. ;)

Kenny, I would recommend you follow http://wiki.maemo.org/Nitdroid_easy_...id_N11_to_EMMC - The instructions are good and work.

Failing that, I have a list of instructions on my blog with screenshots as I ran through the above instructions. I am not saying mine are better, but sometimes pictures work. http://www.mynokian900.com/2011/04/h...vostok-on-n900.

I am going to try whatsapp shortly. I too got SMS working. (I don't really care for phone calls to be honest - hardly ever use the phone). However I tried calling my 2nd phone from N900 and it rang, and from my 2nd phone I called my N900 Nitdroid and it rang too... I stupidly didn't think of testing voice... but guessed it wouldn't work so didn't bother. Still exciting to see the progress E-Yes is making. It's fantastic.

Marketplace also works well now. I bought my first Android application called "Screenshot it" and it works brilliantly.

Thanks but,

I think you don't have to include the commands for fresh install since it's just for upgrading..

Still, i believe the uninstallation method is incorrect or missing something,
since if you try it and then install a new nitdroid you'll get sh : /dev/mmcblk0p2 unknown operand error..

Could someone please fix this?

does anyone know how to remove nitdroid from the emmc, apart from running code and running the nitdroid-uninstaller? I want a clean out all the old folders without reflashing...I just need to know specifically which files, I saw a list in the wiki but it seems to be very uninformative.

+1 for this
Could anyone correct it?

Some feedback after testing it..

I'm not sure if this is more stable.. i get more "app x not responding" error compared to N11..
Also the phone seems to be warmer compared to N11
And some minor problems, screen capture no longer works, i get blurred image now.

Maybe something wrong with my browser? I see no link at all. The only links I see are to mediafire for older versions.

Can someone please post their multiboot .item entry for this? I installed the gingerbread kernel and have the following in my item file and am getting a kernel panic when attempting to boot it:

ITEM_NAME="NITDroid 2.6.28.NIT.06 on mmcblk0p2"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28.NIT.06
ITEM_MODULES=ext3
ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk0p2
ITEM_FSTYPE=ext3
ITEM_FSOPTIONS=rw,noatime,errors=remount-ro

I do have the files all installed in /and

When you see this, try the following:
Code:

cd /
umount /home /and
mount /home /and

That should do the trick :)

Does the N11 version rely on a previous installation (say N9?) to function or is it standalone? I.E. - Can I start with Vostok (N11) and then upgrade to N12 or do I have to start with N9 and patch it all the way up?

All you need to do is remove all files from /home

except
Code:

/home/user
and
Code:

/home/opt
Good luck :)

Looks like you don't have multiboot installed. Install Nitdroid installer from shell (don't run app after installing). Enable Maemo-Extras repo then:
Code:

apt-get update
apt-get install nitdroid-installer

Try again after that.

They are standalone, but sit in the same location so installing (extracting) N12 after N11, overwrites N11.

Installed on MMC? Did you set ITEM_DEVICE to mmcblk0p2 in the Nitdroid item file for multiboot?
