I think good way to contact with our gray eminence is through maemo council ;) Thats why i suggested using "contact us!", mentioning this thread to council members.

I think simply removing the old search box and replacing it with the Power Search would probably reduce repeat posts by 50%. I think I read somewhere on here that the plan was to implement this, but nothing has been done.

The Power Search link doesn't look like a search box and it requires another page to load up before you can start searching. Half the time I forget it's there and use the standard search before remembering to use the Power Search. When you then consider that for many members English is not the first language it's no wonder that the feature is not noticed.

One other improvement would be to have the Wiki given its own tab at the top of the page. Why have it hidden away in the Community section like a ginger step-child? (No offense to any red heads out there!) Advertise it at the top of each page on the site and watch it flourish.

If ever, please allow user to choose in profile which search box to have - personally i hate google powered power search. I agree that standard search is not ideal, and i got nothing against allowing users to got only power search box (instead of another page for power search), but don't force everyone to use it ;)
