Hey there! Funny thing, i also have a n9 64gb from Switzerland, same product code as yours. I must say there's no need to change the product code, you just flash it manually with the desired firmware. You can find step by step guide in this thread, it's fairly easy to do it.

If you (for some reason) want to change the product code you can do it with NSS (Nemesis Service Suite), google for download link, after you download it install the first option (USB something), connect your n9 [sync and connect], open NSS, scan for a new device, select "phone info" and then click "read" and you'll be able to see what's your product code. Now you must change the power mode to local and your phone will reboot in local mode, click enable the product code and write a new product code in the field and press "write". That's about it, set power mode to normal again and press "read" to see if it worked.

I'm not in any way responsible if you harm your device. Do it at your own risk!

Yes, it must be 64Gb black, that's correct. Only the mentioned file is vital but just to be sure download all the files (they're small anyway).

If it's a higher PR no. you won't be able to flash "down" to balkan, but why do you NEED balkan?
The one you've flashed is the MEA variant....
It's basically the same as all the other PR1.1 variants, just with better Arabic support.*
If you're having issues & want to re-flash, just re-flash with the same 1.1.1 image you originally used.
(maybe d'load a fresh one though)

*plus one or two other things I can't recall.

Desperately In need of Help!!!!

Hi guys, I tried flashing n9 from 20.2011.40.4.418 PRC China Unicom CN PRC CU Black PR1.1 to 20.2011.40.4 NDT Singapore Black 64gb PR 1.1. There was an error code 10. I thought flashing from 1.1 to 1.1 is possible?????? So sorry if i asked a silly qs, but i am really do not understand whats wrong =S

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

the PR_Legacy code of your existing firmware is higher than that of the Singapore one (001). you can flash the same pr 1.1 only if the pr_legacy is equal or higher

Nicholias 2012-01-07 02:34

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

Thks a million for the swift response thedead1440!!!. Can i check with the legacy code which u mention is the 3 digits right after the word legacy right so china's is 418 and singapore's is 005. Guess i have to just wait for the pr 1.2 to come before i can reflash to another region. X.X

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

The answer is just a few posts higher, your PR number is probably too high

anjuman 2012-01-17 14:37

olympus 2012-01-17 14:49

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

You can flash your phone only with a firmware that has PR number higher than yours. Your PR number is pretty high i'd say. 20.2011.40-4.480.2_PR_480

anjuman 2012-01-17 15:20

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

What version of NSS did you use for this? And what version of Windows? I tried both NSS and NSS Pro; NSS occasionally claims to have written the product code, while NSSPro fails every time. But in actuality, neither one manages to modify the product code.

BTW my current product code is 059L3V7.

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

one question guys - I am aware that it's not possible to have PR1.1 flashed with the other PR1.1 which has lower legacy code, but I am not clear about the following situation...

right now I have 20.2011.40-4.313.1_PR_313 (production code 059L689)... is it possible to flash it with 30.2012.71 (prod code 059J204)? the file in the flash is named: DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin... ?

so flash 30.2012 with legacy code 001 onto device that has 20.2011 with legacy code 313? (after changing the product code, of course)

BlinkThinks 2012-02-28 21:43

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

You should be good to go flashing with PR1.2 with PR_001

Zelig 2012-02-28 21:48

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

:) that's what I wanted to hear...btw - I'd like to hear it from someone who done that himself - You're the one, or... ?

EDIT: just to report - everything went smoothly - product code changed, firmware downloaded, PR1.2 flashed...

download firmware for product code You want using Navifirm

to change product code see:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=41

to flash N9 with the new firmware see:
http://blog.makesyouhappy.org/?p=202

(just one addition - after entering "flasher -F FIRMWAREIMAGE.bin -f" and getting the messag that system is waiting for the device, You should then connect Your *switched off* N9 to the USB port, and the process starts)

Re: [Solved]Change n9 product code?

Hi!

My question is related to the main topic of this thread.

So, I have a black 16gb N9. I'm from Hungary, and from the product code (059L5V5: N9 RM-696 T-Mobile Hungary HU Black 16GB V1) the phone is locked to T-Mobile HU.
My question is if I change the product code to for example this: 059J203: RM-696 NDT CENTRAL EUROPE BLACK 16GB, will it unlock the phone? So will I be able to use it with T-Mobile UK or O2 or whatever as long as it"s in Europe?
The reason I want to do this, because I'm gonna move to London.

Thanks!

Edit: Or do any of You have an idea that'll help me?

sorry, mate, but flashing does not include unlocking… check the laws over there, in many countries providers are obliged to unlock the devices of their users after some time (if user applied for that, of course)...

Oh, that's a bit disappointing, but I anticipated this answer, though.

Anyway, thanks for the quick answer, I'll talk to someone in a nearby shop tomorrow.

What release do you have now and what release+variant are you trying to flash?
And also, can you report the exact error you get from the flasher?

Yup but remember to flash to pr legacy 001 firmware so that its easier for OTA as well as easier to flash *any* firmware in the future ;)

Advice me plz guys!

- NSS/NSSPro works only with Vista/7? Coz on WinXP I can't reach my N9 in anyway.
- If I change Pr.Code do I need to reflash it with proper rom or I can stay on flashed one?
- Do Pr.Code and rom version have any kind of leverage on Ovi Store client regional restrike?

1) Works on any Windows OS, as long as proper drivers are installed.
2 and 3) READ THIS (specifically, Warning 3)
It depends on the installed software version.
Unlike other Nokia phones, product code doesn't mean a damn.

Hurrian Do I understand right Pr.Code isn't have any kind of impact to Ovi Store client? How do I change regional store from one to another? Just by change simcard?

AFAIK, it's determined by GeoIP and your Ovi account settings.
