Also I would recommend making your Button_Foreground in Constants.ini to #000000 as it makes the button writing black and thus more visible.

Making great progress :)

ps. it seems any changes over stock seem to add a bit of lag to conversations :(

Version 2.0

- Reduced images filesize by 50%

This should fix any lag issues....

Sorry I didn't clarify the problem :P

Because of the white background, when you try to write anything using the keyboard, you can't see it :(

Re: [Announce] Dark Theme for N9 (Conversations, Mail, Phone, etc.)

I have found a somewhat fix to my issue, in email when composing an email you can actually choose a font and font colour, but i have to pick black font colour everytime I write an email, any idea why my N9 seems to not want to show the grey background you have when composing?? :(

Use 7 zip to extract the folder usr
connect your phone with the usb to the computer
choose mass storage on the phone
the folder that comes up is your MyDocs folder
put the usr folder in your MyDocs folder

then enable developer mode
click on terminal
devel-su (enter)
rootme (enter)

cd /home/user/MyDocs/ (enter)

cp -R usr/ / (enter)

Then reboot the phone.

they shouldnt show in your gallery. unless you copied using terminal, then you can delete the "usr" folder from MyDocs

If anyone also noticed that the green in this dark theme is extremely bright when the device goes into over saturation mode when exposed in sunlight, then use this attached bubble image for a slightly less saturated look :)

This one makes it MUCH easier to read under direct sunlight :)

Same as f2thaks instructions, just copy to your N9 root folder :)

Questiooon... I dont want coloured bubbles in my conversations, how would I go about changing those to... white with black letters?

F2thaK 2011-12-07 23:40

Re: [Announce] Dark Theme for N9 (Conversations, Mail, Phone, etc.)

Photoshop.

:D

slai 2011-12-07 23:44

Re: [Announce] Dark Theme for N9 (Conversations, Mail, Phone, etc.)

What possessed you to give those colours to the bubbles dude :P .

But okay, that takes care of the bubbles. The text though? If Im reading this scenario right, Id have white bubbles with white text. Can I change the font colour of the bubbles without messing with the fonts elsewhere (like where you actually type the message, where due to the black background you wouldnt see what you were typing)?

By the way; you are like the pillar of awesomeness for making useful and brilliant **** for my phone. THERE WILL BE DONATIONS! WHEN I have the money to do so... damn christmas...

Re: [Announce] Dark Theme for N9 (Conversations, Mail, Phone, etc.)

New version out.

Theme is now its own theme.

WARNING this hasnt been tested yet, but should be fine.

slai 2011-12-07 23:58

Re: [Announce] Dark Theme for N9 (Conversations, Mail, Phone, etc.)

Applying now. BTW, could you put the original files in the first post?

Doing (from MyDocs):

Code:

cp -R Faster\ Darker/ /usr/share/themes/
gives me this:

Code:

cp: cant create directory '/usr/share/themes/Faster Darker': Permission denied

gives me this:

Code:

cp: cant create directory '/usr/share/themes/Faster Darker': Permission denied

If you want to do it that way, what you need to do is open the faster darker folder and well follow the code

cd /home/user/MyDocs/Faster Darker/
cp -R meegotouch/ /usr/share/themes/base/meegotouch/
be patient at this part, it takes awhile to transfer 12.8mb or whatever it is.
reboot
