Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
Is it possibile to have mail address displayed in the contacts list for msn? I have several friends whose nickname is continuously changing (call them schizophrenic if you wish :P) and I usually identify them from the mail address. But this is not possible on the N9 (apparently).
As a workaround, I opened also an msn client on my pc and did a double check between computer and phone, then merged the msn contacts in the right contact entry... but it's been unnecessarily tricky and required a pc. One of my contacts has two msn accounts, and once I merged both in his contact entry the two showed the mail address instead of the simpleand anonymous "MSN messenger" sentence, so this is possible. But it could be a Contacts software thing independent from the plugin, I don't know. |
Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
@Watchmaker, it will be possible with my future extraContacts projects, but i have no plans when it will be released, month or less, i think

Take your time, I've solved my issue for the short time being... merged contacts keep the name I assigned to them so no more name-changing madness :p I just wanted to share my experience so that if this could be solved, it would. |
Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
Hi coderus. Is it possible to implement Multi User Chat rooms for XMPP accounts? Would be a really great feature (If possible with Gabble-Telepathy)!

Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
@zappAtom, yup, it will be in extraContacts
|
Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
Cool! So do I understand correctly that ExtraContacts will replace ExtraPlugins one day with advanced features/XMPP support, etc.?

Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
@zappAtom, no, extraContacts its just Contacts application.

The blacklisted programs are shown in the application manager?

Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
I have just re-flashed my N9 and installed Extraplugins via the Nokia store but now when a contact sends me a IM and it appears in the notification panel when I click on the message to read it on full it doesn't open up the message and when I then go to view messages manually it is not listed in the message section either.
Any ideas (not sure that is is even an Extraplugins issue) |

Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
Works so fantastic! - It even does VoIP between a Jabber account (jabber.ccc.de on the N9) and a Google account (on a PC)... What fun is that the N9 seems to advertise itself as being able to do Video calls, too. The desktop client says I can establish a video call with my N9; probably it's only the UI that's missing on the N9 for that.
One thing was a little odd: When I first installed it, it lacked the icons for some services even after a reboot. Plus, I couldn't get jabber to work; the chat window would close down immediately. All these troubles were gone after a 2nd re-boot. |
Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
There's something wrong with windows messenger on my phone. I've only got one contact (only started using messenger for that one contact) but when I've installed it, the contact showed up on a list and then later disappeared and I can't see it anymore. Also if I try manually add the windows messenger login for a contact on a phone it shows up next to skype details and then disappears a couple seconds later. Any ideas how to get it work properly?
Edit: works fine now. |
Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
I have following problem: Installed application from Ovi Store. Restarted phone. Added msn account. Seems to be working fine, however, no MSN icon appears on the homescreen.

Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
I run into the problem with the blacklisted packages, but is there any way to check which blacklisted packages I have from the standard N9 UI (not from shell)? I have PR1.2 in use an quite a few apps installed so uninstalling stuff one-by-one is not really an option.
Any suggestions? |

Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
hi there, first of all, thanks for this usefull app. Unfortunately I have a problem. My jabber-server uses a custom SSL-Certificate, and therefore on Connection I only get "Certificate not valid". Is there a way to force the xmpp plugin to accept the certificate and get it to connect anyways?
|
Re: [Open Source] Extraplugins v0.3.0 - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber
extraplugins just create account. it's not related to protocol, ui, anything else. it just create account. nothing else.
all connection, chatting and other procedures handling by system. not by plugin. |

Code:
~ $ mc-tool set <account name> bool:ignore-ssl-errors=1 Related to this: I tried importing the (self signed) certificate on the N9. Only the RSA cert was accepted, the DSA version gave errors in syslog. But even so, I still get "certificate error" when I disabled the ignore-ssl-errors setting. What does it take to make this work?... Do I have to use a cert signed with a cert chain to a CA for that? |
