Well, the schematics for the N9 are out there....they clearly show the connection for the RX antenna to headphones, but don't say anything about the TX part. (and I'd trust the schematic)

If something is not clear you may ask here.

Bluetooth controls refer to what prev and and next buttons do: for example if they control the frequence, than with prev you go back 100 Mhz.

Custom volume keys set is to change the behavior of the volume keys when application is running, so you may change station when device is locked using those keys.

Shake control is to control the application shaking the phone.

I'll keep testing my bt heart rate belt with qml radio and post here if I find any problems.

Anyway, thanks guys for making fm radio possible for N9!

I would really be interested in that, actually the TX part is my only remaining complaint about my N9

Can somebody help me, because after I've puted the 3 deb files in MyDocs/downloads and typed the dpkg-comand in terminal I get the following message:

Aegis rejecting /home/user/MyDocs/fmrx*. Could not open debian archives
Aegis aborting dpkg -- all listed package files rejected

you saved the files in ~MyDocs/Downloads but are installing from MyDocs. obvious oversight leading to the error.

You must install all the three debs Javispedro provided. Use the terminal to do so with dpkg. If you have no clue what dpkg is this is what to do:
Put all the 3files in the MyDocs folder (it's the first one you get when putting the device in mass memory mode).
Open terminal
Type "devel-su", press enter than type "rootme".
Type "dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/fmrx*" and press enter.

Good to see some Indian users....
It's not easy for you guys to get hold of the N9 compared to the Lumia's.
Loads of Indians are popping-up at XDA-dev nowadays with 710/800's :/

I have the very same problem, but the three debs definitly are in /home/user/MyDocs. What else could be the cause? (developer mode is on and I am logged in as devel-su).

Starting QML-Radio
when I start QML-radio, it started with the first available frequency, for example 87,500, but there is no station, only a terrible noice.
How can I fix this to start with the station/frequency I ended?
Thanks for the great app!!

Use the tab button to check integrity of what you're typing.

You can't do anything about it. I will add an option to resume last used freq in next version.

You were right. I had overlooked that asterisk "dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/fmrx*". And I had even wondered, why there was none :o

I have changed the first post to improve code visibility (and having an easier copy and paste).

A small tip: if you are on an Unix OS, you may copy the files using sftp protocol and access command line with ssh protocol: in this way you can copy and paste directly from browser without typing directly in the N9.

Version 0.0.8:
  • Added option to resume last used freq at startup.

The old version has to be removed before updating?

I agree. Station name would be nice instead of frequency.

Re: [Announce] QML Radio for Harmattan

First big thanks for gionni and javispedro, great app working as I hoped when got my N9.
And one question/new feature, with my phone I got Nokia Stereo Headset WH-701. Volume control and call start/end functions are working well with QML radio at this moment. On topside of control are previous, play/pause and next buttons that aren't used yet, can these be used for selecting prev/next radio station and start/stop radio for example?

gionni88 2012-04-27 10:51

Re: [Announce] QML Radio for Harmattan

I have BH 214 headset and controls work (there is also an option in settings to choose what to do with play and prev). Are you using last version on QMLRadio? Are those options in your settings page?

pniemi 2012-04-27 18:50

Re: [Announce] QML Radio for Harmattan

I did have version 0.0.7 and updated it now to version 0.0.8. Here screenshots from settings page:
http://massikka.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Nokia...g/_smaller.jpg http://massikka.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Nokia...g/_smaller.jpg
Did you mean those custom volume keys? I tested them and result was, how can you say, peculiar.
Use custom volume keys sets : OFF
Click does change volume, nothing else expected.
Use custom volume keys sets : ON
Volume hold does change station as expected but click won't do anything.

We do have different kind of headsets, yours is bluetooth connected while mine is wired, maybe this is causing unexpected behaviour now?

gionni88 2012-04-28 15:08

Re: [Announce] QML Radio for Harmattan

Volume increasing/decreasing dbus commands are not working anymore, and I don't understand why since I have not touched them. Thats's why it doesn't do anything when using custom volume keys with volume command. Thanks for reporting, will check it.

I didn't understand you linked a wired headset. Are those buttons working with built in media player? I don't know if OS recognizes those buttons, let me know if it does.

I may have used a bit too few words on that, sorry :). I tested my headset control with buildin musicplayer and there it does work. Prev/next does change track and play/pause works also. Even fast rev/forward works while holding prev or next -button.

I see. I remember a developer has written Meego does not detect any wired headset button but call/reject button, and I only have the N900 wired headset with 1 button only.

I don't have multibuttons wired headset so I need a bit of help if you want it implemented:

Open terminal and type
Code:

dbus-monitor --system
than press the buttons and report here what you get. If you do it via ssh from pc you can copy and paste, otherwise you can type
Code:

dbus-monitor --system >> /home/user/MyDocs/dbusLogText.txt
and upload the txt file you will get. Don't forget to stop the monitoring after you have pressed all the buttons with ctrl+c, and don't forget the order of the buttons presses in case their name are not recognizable (which is unlikely, but who knows).

Also, for privacy, wipe all signals not refering to "ButtonPressed" method names.

gionni88 2012-04-30 07:36

Re: [Announce] QML Radio for Harmattan

About including station name in radio page: are you sure you want it shown instead of freq? Because from rds metadata I already get the name, and from auto scanning the name in the list is the metadata one, so it will be just a repetition.

Try it and let me know if it works. Buttons configs are the same as bluetooth ones right now.

Quick test, buttons were working now as expected and changing bluetooth button configs worked also for wired ones. Thanks for good work and quick response to matter :D.
