So what? It can utilize only 8MP.

PS: It's interesting that N950 has 12MP, that indicates it was intended to be second Meego/Harmattan device at some point. Although probably just prototype for it and would be in the end slightly diffrent (better screen for instance).

beta 4 is out featuring:

Full manual controls: Auto, Shutter priority, ISO priority, Manual
Fixed the flashing under electric lighting bug
Fixed the "not saving last photo" bug

Strange but when installing this my phone completely crashed.
It took very long for installing the update and while installing i saw that programs were dissapearing from the menu (phone/mail/... apps) I forced to reboot the phone but now it's only stuck to nokia boot logo.
Guess i need to reflash and have no clue if this was due to the update of PCAM but this is scary. :-)

Guess i need to reflash the whole thing and reconfigure everything, not that fun to do but anyway!

^^ you must have surely removed mp-harmattan using n9qtweak...

Edit: Just saw on N9QTweak thread yup mp-harmattan was the cause...pcam is not at fault...

It may just my problem but the photos taken by pcam didn't show up in Gallery preview. But the photos do exist under DCIM folder.

How can I solve this problem? Thxk.

writing codec that will encode raw jpeg on phone would be only solution, but...will you do that? :D

The app saves both jpg and raw in DCIM folder of MyDocs. In the gallery I can see the jpeg files normally. Raw images are unusable on the phone unless someone ports ufraw.

Please check if you see jpegs in the gallery properly and report back.

bnwg please make sure that you have not tweaked tracker config in any way.

I did enable the hidden files option in Filebox. I can browse and see the jpg taken by pcam using Filebox...no problem at all.

The problem for me is the jpg taken by pcam doesn't show in the Gallery while the jpg taken by stock camera does show up.

Btw apt-get source in scratchbox returns nothing. I am curious if the blank viewfinder is having something to do with the framebuffer. You can try modifying the overlay color and see if you are seeing the overlay or black. (now overlay is near black so you wouldn't know the difference)

Thanks wook_sf. I am glad that I haven't caused that issue because I couldn't possibly think what it could be.

Beta 5 is out with flash controls, back curtain flash, and a gallery shortcut.

(It's funny to see that dng images pop out in the mail attachment image selector)

well, it's old gallery bug that was caused by "flash only kernel" on pr 1.2 as far as i saw, or by restoring backup from pr 1.1 luckily ibra had fixed backup and it worked :D

i am looking forward for n950's fix of this app, heavily looking forward :D

The info I have about the N950 is this

In FCam/N9/Platform.h there is this code

            return GRBG;

    }

I suspect that the N950 is GRBG and that is why the mixed colors. This needs a modified libfcam though, to return the other values.

Also changing the overlay colorkey to something red, shows that we do not get a black image, but rather we get nothing at all.

Changing the framebuffer to other color spaces gives a green image.

Changing the omapfb_color_format doesn't give any visible change.

Rawcam works as intended for nokia N9 as far as I know. There are no reported bugs until now and I think that beta5 should be considered stable. One or two minor new features may be added, but essentially this is the finished product.

The goals of rawcam are a little bit different, but even if I wanted to go that way, fcam drivers don't support video so half of the functionality will be missing.

Think of rawcam as a high end dslr camera vs a point-and-shoot. Scenes and presets are completely missing on the dslr which has a somewhat steeper learning curve, but all controls can be made manual on-demand, and everything is as few clicks away as possible even if that means control-clutter. Stock camera is the p&s and it's very good at it. Rawcam aims to be the DSLR.

Don't know it is bug or not,
n9 did't use the whole sensor to capture image,
also the aspect ratio on the capture screen is not proportional.

idk bro, rawcam is not for quick shots, that's problem with "face detection" or with things like that
maybe resolution choice would be useful (but i don't see how)
raw cam is jut to take shot and you'll do rest at home on pc not on phone...though :P
it would be nice to see this working on n950 too, really
