Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.1.2 wifi file transfer for Harmattan
Great job: the bug of the letters with an accent is over now.
The possibility to delete a file would be greatly appreciated ;) Finally, the 'back' button is still there in the main menu (V0.1.2) |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.0 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Version 0.2.0 of Wifitrans, Wifitransfree and WifitransN900 has been released, the download link has been updated on the first post.
Added files and folders delete function and fixed the "back" button on the main page :) |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.0 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle

Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
For some reason both versions of Wifitrans seem to be free (as in beer) in Nokia Store. However, I could not download either of those for some reason ("Installation package not found").
And apps.formeego is also not working at all on my phone, the client does not show any applications. |

You can download the wifitrans application here if the "installation package not found" problem persist on nokia store http://repo.pub.meego.com/home%3a/cc....2.1_armel.deb Thanks for using this application ;) |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Is there way to define a permanent whitelist on the n900 version? For example, a text file.

Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Hello,
I know this is an old thread but I am having trouble downloading Wifitrans. There is a website http://n9-apps.com/ that has numerous apps including the Wifitrans app but when I click on the install or download link I am told that the app can be downloaded from store.ovi.com at http://n9-apps.com/wifitrans/download. This location redirects to http://ovi.sigma.apps.opera.com/en_a...=store.ovi.com. Unfortunately, here there is no Wifitrans app available. Where do I find apps I can download for the N9 now that the Nokia store is gone and these other websites don't hold apps for the N9? Thanks |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Have a look on archive.org (linked also here from forum, keywords: n9 store down archive.org, ...).

Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Wifitrans 0.2.1 download links:
https://openrepos.net/content/appsformeego/wifitrans or https://openrepos.net/content/zaidk9/wifitrans |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Thank you for the links.
peterleinchen - I couldn't find anything on those links. MMC - Those links do provide a download to a .deb file about 280K. When I try to install on the N9 it wants to download the full file (about 4.6Mb) and fails. It says that it is disconnected from the server. Where do I go from here? |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Just installed from https://openrepos.net/content/appsformeego/wifitrans and everything is OK. No need to manually download anything else. Installation may need some additional files/packages which are not yet installed in your phone. Try to install https://openrepos.net/content/ancelad/n9-repomirror first and then Wifitrans.

Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Thank you MMC, that worked.
Great |

What is the current EASY way to transfer a lot of files from a PC with ANY os to Maemo 5 / N900? Wifitrans is for Nokia N9 or does this URL for repo accidentally have N9 in it? Edit: first post it was for Fremantle, but give 404. "http://linux4us.org/downloads/wifitransn900_0.2.1_armel.deb" Does anybody know if WifiTrans works or have better alternative suggestions? |

this is the case with "mass storage" mode as well with sshfs (wifi and usb). The solution I found is to use the usb mass storage mode within Backupmenu. Not very fast but sure. |

(first time is not easy, but then it is easy) or microSD-card. (easy and fast(it doesn't get so long to get back-cover, really!), if you have card reader with PC) |
Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
Unless you have swap on sd and something else put on sd, then sd is probably not an option. Usb plus HEN, new to me. Have to check that when I have time.

Re: [Announce] WifiTrans v0.2.1 wifi file transfer for Harmattan and Fremantle
There are swap settings to use when transferring files to a SD card or emmc which has an active swap running on it. Look in the swappolube threads if you find nothing I will try to watch this thread and try to post the specific swap settings I use for big file transfers.
BTW I prefer to use SCP(ftp over SSH tunnel) to move files to my devices over USB cable. H-E-N was great but now the USB mode applet does it all automagically especially when using flash drives though it can also initiate other USB devices. |
