thanks this solved my dead N9. i had dual boot installed so the flasher was refusing to detect the phone. The flashing the kernel command enabled the phone to be detected!!

i have this problem.
but i can't connect my phone to pc for 'flasher - i' command,
and it say : Suitable USB interface (bootloader/phonet) not found, waiting...

and don't recognize anything!:( can anybody help me ?

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead but I'm stuck on finding the flasher software - the links on the main thread are dead and my phone has gone like on this thread.

Is there anything else I could do to charge it up a bit? Also I'm not sure how it happened - I charged it all night and it happened randomly in the morning.

Hello, I do not use my N9 frequently, the battery is ok to use, but when I have the phone "switched off" the battery goes flat within a week or so. I am not convinced that the phone is completely switched off. Has anybody got a similar experience?

having the same issue and being somewhat frightened of the idea of flashing the phone just for the reason of a low battery I went forward and tried this.

Finding for source code of the flasher wasn't successful. So I did some binary patching on the Windows flasher tool to prevent flashing after the battery checking/charging step. Maybe some of the pros here may double check this patch and verify with an old N9.

If you are somewhat familiar with a binary editor of your choice, feel free to patch the original tool to provide charging-only functionality without the risk of flashing.

Hi all,

one of my persisting issues is the battery of the N9. I purchased two original "new" ones (with older dates then the original of my phone). I measured the voltage before use. One was at 3.3 volts, the other was at zero. I did go with the better one, but still, the battery was not strong enough to fully boot my N9.

How are you guys deal with this kind of issue. Do you have a source for working spare batteries for the N9?

Don't know where in the world you are, but have you considered trying Akku Polarcell equivalent for N9/Lumia 800?

Whilst it is a bit tedious never found particularly onerous to use Ctrl -c to terminate flasher a minute or so after reaching 10% battery. How long are you leaving the 3.3V on charge (pulsing white LED) before attempting booting?

Personally wouldn't have any qualms about flashing firmware as in my experience only had two dead N9 unable to recover, which was caused by not unusual EMMC failure with time. When you say battery not strong enough to "fully boot", I was wondering what you have to lose here by not flashing.

I am located in Germany, so Polarcell may be an option. Thanks for this suggestion.

The problem with my "new" spare battery is, that it is going from low to 100% while charging very fast. So the flasher more or less started flashing immediately. I was not really sure, if the battery holds enough juice for the flashing. Ctrl-C wasn't really possible.

At the moment, the only way to get the battery charged somewhat is this method (https://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?...8&postcount=14) after trying a really lot of things before.
