Credit where it's due, they have their work cut out for them in keeping WPc a nice place and have had to become quite strict with the recent rise in WPfanboy behavior. Not sure where all of these WPfanboys have come from tbh, I never came across anyone like them in my winmo days. |

I once asked app availability for like 5 or 6 different things that I had on my N9 that my wife wanted, the post had a lot of views but no replies, so I bumped it after a week. I finally got a pretty butthurt response to one of my queries about video chat saying "would you really need that". LOL felt like steve jobs telling me I was holding the phone wrong |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
Steve was a smart man, when he said something, you better listen.

Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
the 920 is too big for me. even if it wasn't i still wouldn't buy it because of windows phone.
compared it with my n9. :) http://b1301.hizliresim.com/15/9/htjkf.jpg |

This is how a phone should look like 2013!(Yeah, the one in the middle) Why can only android create these beast? waiting for another OS to build really big phones. Jolla? Nokia, Apple? more big screens needed! After all Samsung has sold 15+ millions galaxy note 1 and 2. What are they other vendors doing? |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
the big screens are useful if you are watching a video or playing a game, but for me the N9 is the biggest I would want, since I primarily use it as a phone and carry it in my pants pocket
but I do see the potential for a big screen |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
Heck no!
... |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
The size of the Nokia 920 is actually closer to what size I want/need whereas the N9 is borderline too small for my bigger hands.
But to be honest, the Lumia 920 isn't a bad phone. I've had some experience with it, but instead of upgrading from the Lumia 900 to it, I went back to the N9 and will await for BB10 to come out instead. Or Jolla. Or Tizen. Or Firefox OS. I just cannot buy into Windows Phone 8 after the upgrade path was once again broken from WP7.5 - some phones didn't upgrade from WP7 to WP7.5 and then all WP7.5 phones didn't upgrade to WP8, which I just cannot support. |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
Agreed! And it's kinda funny... since win8 desktop o.s is awesome
apples and oranges i know... |

sad that there isn't actually a company that makes a big screen non-android os device. hope that they don't make 5-6 inch windows phones. :D |

Has anybody compiled a similar list on WP8? I am of course not familiar with that OS but I have seen some references that even the most wanted features for WP7 are still missing on WP8... |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread

some of the stuff from that WP7 list is still applicable for WP8 from my personal experience with my wife's 920 when she first got it, it was like once a week she was asking me to figure out how to fix this or that |

Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
The new Lumia phones do look rather nice. I was always interested in Windows Phone. Mostly just curious how the UI works in real life, but the fact that I knew that WP7 phones would be just as EOL as Symbian/Maemo/MeeGo phones and the previously high price of WP8 phones kept me from buying one.
Since I prefer slightly smaller phones and don't have much interest in camera functionality, I will probably buy either a Lumia 520, 620 or 720 device and have a look at WP. Must likely a yellow 520, since it is very affordable, a great way to check in person if WP could become my primary phone OS. I actually prefer the look of the 720, but love the idea of the changeable covers of the 520 and 620. It is going to be interesting with BB10, Tizen, Jolla, Ubuntu and Firefox devices coming this year. But I think the N9 will stay my primary phone this year also. |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
I dont know how anybody can like the multitasking on WP8
it is dreadful. I was trying to send some photos from my wifes lumia to my N9 (I have to give it credit the camera is very very good) how stupid is it that you have to mash the back button over and over to close out everything, and its such a pain not to be able to see everything open and freely switch between them I guess the N9 has spoiled me |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
By the way re-load the page if you want to see the stream.
Or youll be stuck with the earlier video. |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
@ ofiron
That's really stupid design decision I agree. I can't say Apple's method is any better (Double Tap home, Swipe Right, keep swiping until you find the App, Click to enter it). Or Double Tap Home, Swipe Right, Press and Hold, Tap the small circle to close the App, keep tapping that ridiculously small X on all the Apps until they're closed. Android's implementation is much better, but that isn't saying much. The real cherry is when you use a Palm Pre, or even better a RIM PlayBook (which is missing one feature, and that's the ability to stack two Apps side-by-side like a desktop OS) |

You know a friend of mine has the Galaxy Note 2, and on it you can actually stack apps and have 2 running at the same time, looked interesting |
Re: The super miniscule Lumia thread
Just bought Lumia 620, a great little phone for regular flawless use and excellent sync with corporate email and client. I et it will become a bestseller. Its on par with iPhone 4s. But so much cheaper
