Already suggested a second chinese version with some protection. Could be sold via paypal, buyers get a serial to unlock. That way Ovi store can be bypassed. Then we will see how many honest users there are...

well, you could simply search for gangnam style, which has korean characters in the title aswell.. that could be enough for you already I guess to test non latin chars.

I'm afraid it wouldn't work. PayPal is not popular in China, most of them uses alipay. Also there are serious issue with Chinese Ovi Store, as the service is run my a company called Tom (as far as I know, for MeeGo), and recently the regulation has been changed they need to update the Chinese store, but they can no longer find MeeGo expert from Nokia, so they plan to shut down the paid service for N9 (Maybe they already do)

The Chinese store is a mess...... Everything rediculously cheap (most apps about 1 yuan, about 10 British pennys) even though they have serious problem processing payments.:(

is it normal behaivour that if media player is playing a song and soundwave recognise a song the music stops? is it possible in the next version choose to not stop music?

No, that's not normal. I'll test. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

All depends on your songs and mostly on enviroment noise.

I personally tested it when music is very quiet at night, in loud caffe bars (plenty testing there) and even next to a V8 engine rumble and car driving.
90% of tests were a success.

About Chinese Store, I'm sorry to hear that. My mood since yesterday went from 'I'll nuke the forum and server' to 'that's sad'. Still undecided on that matter.

If it's too troublesome to enter chinese ovi store, maybe you can consider a donation or special paypal payment as brkn mentioned, I can help you to spread information with that. (Maybe after you fix the oriental character issue?)

There are still quite a few thouands active Chinese N9 users though.:)

Thanks for this great piece of SW, very neat.

A remark though, when I sing or hum a song, Soundwave never finds the match. SoundHound finds it quite often (HTC One X).

Is there someting to do?

On a side note: after 15 minutes of comparative tests, the HTC becomes very hot but the N9 stays cool :D

I cannot buy by phone bill in Vietnam, while I still can buy other app.

here are some bugs i found:
often happens that found the song but stays in loading window forever but if i go back to recently searched i see the new one
second, when i search two songs one after the other comes out the three letters on the top left corner "a c k"
another small one is that the bottom icons (back, favorites, share, buy) are in the middle
(and don't show album covers: in chart stays in loading and in history don't come out)

I don't know how these bugs are possible.
It seems that you got connection issues or maybe server has them.
Well, I did some work and pushed the update.
Lets see what happens after you update.
On the first screenshot a c k is from Track.
How did that happen? You don't have access to QMLs. So declarative loader must be messed up.
Are you using any mods on your phone?

Yes, I know why official clients overheat phones, but will keep that trade secret for myself. I chose a more conservative approach to that problem.

This app is awesome, however I've found a couple of bugs, in the first image this screen is the one just after SoundHound finds the song, as you can see there are some weird characters showing, the same happens on history, however when I tap the song the track screen comes again and some characters are fixed.

I also think that when SoundHound is matching songs, instead of just giving you one song will be better to give you a list (I dunno 3 or 4 more songs) so we can choose the correct one, as sometimes it gets the right song but not the right artist.

I'm now considering bying this application after all the positive feedback :)
It is one of the only application on Nokia Store with 5 stars.

compared to android's shazam: those servers are really better and much faster (5 seconds to find a song)
is there something to do to improve speed and find songs in both servers?

knobtviker, I just couldn't buy SoundWave at Brazil's Nokia Store - according to that sh*** store, my credit cards are not valid. Will try later today or tomorrow. I've used SoundHound over Symbian and liked very much. My N9 is missing something like that.

I have a phoblet (Samsung Note 2) that was bought only for book-reading purposes, while continue to use N9 as cellphone. But have to admit: Google Play is a thousand times better than Nokia Store. Once you inform your credit card when first accessing Nokia Play, you'll never more be asked for a card again. At Nokia Store, every time you buy some app, have to inform a new card number, because that informed before turns to "invalid". Every time!

I really don't need SoundWave in my N9, but love (for my N9) speaks louder and I really WANT it!

Hope can soon to buy SoundWave.

Forgot if I mentioned this here, 0.1.18 is pending in QA.

It fixes some small visual bugs and that character encoding bug which came out of parsing XML. :)

When it's out, will try to fix some other stuff too... :)
