Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
Does v52 affect SkypeOut Calls? One of the last updates/tweaks to my n900 involved the v52 Kernel. My n900 now drops all SkypeOut calls to cellular or lanline phones. Skype to skype still works though it is more choppy than before.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
no, kernel does not have anything with skype.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
Hi
I have weird problem, I have "too much" kernels installed. That happened accidentally, when I restored apps and I didn't unchecked the kernel, so the appmanager installed it. As far I know, it can't be uninstalled by appmanager, and I didn't had the uninstaller, so I installed "Linux kernel for poweruser (settings and overclock)" package, I thought it will replace the old install. Now I have these packages installed: Linux kernel for BFS user (boot image) Linux kernel for power user Linux kernel for poweruser (settings and overclock) Tried to uninstall these (and then install the kernel again), but the uninstaller says "Cant uninstall" or something like that. I just flashed the device, do I need to do that again? :I Thanks |

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
After installing KP52 i found that there is a problem restoring images with backup menu - after restoring an image with it (kp52), the device becomes unbootable - both into backupmenu and into maemo. see here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=1533 is it possible to revert back to KP51? |
Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
Can't confirm, restored dozens of images with kp52 using backupmenu, and never had any issues.

Here comes a problem - all ext* fsck tools just doesn't work well for flash, if anything above journal recovery is needed. It gets confused, and attempt by fsck to repair even a minor glitch, results in making filesystem a total FUBAR. Thats why I disabled all automatic fsck tests, and after every bad shutdown, I do fsck manually, from recovery shell. If recovering journal isn't enough, I create a backupmenu backup (which just skip broken files on read errors - of course I keep track on what got lost), then re-create filesystem from scratch on given partition, and restore backup. AFAIK, it's the only way to have a healthy filesystem in case of something getting ugly. Regular fsck routines are of no use for us. [/OT] /Estel |
Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
New version of kernel-power-settings (0.17). In this version is removed EARLY_SSH support because it calling getbootstate (increasing reboot counter and can cause MALF) and removed FSCK_HOME pre-mount hook script from /etc/default/mount-opts (which is horrible hack and could cause problems in future CSSU updates where will be optional static /etc/fstab support).
I think that EARLY_SSH support is not used and can be easy replaced by BootMenu usb network. FSCK_HOME option via pre-mount hook forced calling fsck before mounting /home. This feature will be supported in future by CSSU. Please test if everyting working fine (install, upgrade, remove, ...). If there is no problem I will push this package to Maemo Extras-devel and start/finish implementing optional fsck and static fstab file support for CSSU. http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pal...0.17_armel.deb |

Got continuous reboot with yellow light after this update.
And http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php doesn't seem to be working no more. Anyone can guide me where I can get flasher and firmware other than there? Thanks. EDIT: nvm, found this: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=78477&page=7 |

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
updated kernel-power-settings and ke-recv.
This replaced my customized osso-mmc-mount mmc-mount rcS-late genfstab...ecc.. (i have a mix of ext3 and ext4 filesystems) Rebooted with fingers crossed.. ALL FINE! Every partition (and filesystem type) has been correctly detected and mounted in the right place. Well done! |
Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
Updates for ke-recv and system-services packages are in cssu-devel, look for info: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...20#post1342120
WARNING: before updating system-services first update kernel-power-settings (otherwise device can be unbootable). |
Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
hi could you provide hackedmodule for kp52 which doesn't depend on cover magnet sensor (always reporting closed?).
someone did a hack for kp48 but i believe it would be incompatible with kp52. i need it because my second phone i believe has broken sensor :P |
Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v52 in Extras-Devel
