Competition entry "Very seriously for Jolla" is from Nils Torvalds.

Member of the european parliament and the father of the Torvalds that everyone knows about. Wishing that he pre-ordered one for his son as well.

How is it possible to get an entry into the contest without a facebook account? No answer by Jolla for a week now :rolleyes:

The contest is on facebook for good reasons. Most non geeks are there and its all about marketing theyr phone.

We have to accept that even if some of us don't use that ****

There are several other companys do similar things. And you cant just go ask them "hey can you be on X/Y/Z place instead because there is where I am"

Instead lets hope they come up with some developer competitions for instead. Now those competitions will probadly be elsewhere maybe at upcoming qt devdays?

I got this response from Jolla: "Just wanted to follow up and let you know that although the competition is hosted via our Facebook page, it does not require a contestant to sign in or to have a Facebook account in order to participate."

Indeed, you don't need an account for uploading. But facebook is poisonous. I stay very clear of it.

I'm on the east coast and haven't hear anything about my shirt. Last email I got was on 8/2 about the contest but nothing with any shipping information.

I got the same email about the contest but no shipping information. It was delivered by USPS out of a clear blue sky.

It's easy going to upload the pictures to FB by the way for everyone who wants to participate with no FB account.
There is an "UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO" button you can press, browse to your pic to upload, enter name and email address - voilà done.
You just have to wait for confirmation by Jolla until they are posted.
