Re: Happy Birthday N9!
I hesitated for so long with getting an N9, because of the missing keyboard. After using the N900 I didnt wanted to go back to vkb... but whatever, swipe UI seriously is the most beautiful thing around in mobile world... cant even be compared to android... sticking with Meego could have made nokia a big player in the Smartphone world. Seriously, whenever a friend of mine with android plays around with the N9, they would all keep it, if they could use all their useless apps.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!
still using n9 as my everyday device :)

Re: Happy Birthday N9!
I bought one of the Danish ones, right at the beginning. Black, 64GB. I still use it today as my main phone.
For a while my 808 was my main phone. The camera, you know? For a while a Lumia 820 was - because I don't take the opinion of others on faith. LTE, so some of the things it did, it did fast. I sold it. I have a BB Q10 as a secondary phone - the keyboard. 'nuff said. But my N9 lives on. It was like coming home when I dropped the sim back into it. There is nothing like it. |
Nokia might be cooking something like N9 till 2016!!!

Happy Birthday Nokia N9! I'm still in love with you :)

This thread has established the answer to a question many have asked.
Lumiaman is an alias of stephen elop. On a happy note.. I have no idea of anything that could be considered an 'upgrade' from the N9.. So im just waiting for Jolla like everyone else. |
Re: Happy Birthday N9!
is it only two years?! feels like a lot longer. having never actually owned one but still loving some of the stuff my 900 does, i'm currently looking at buying a 9. can't wait.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!
I still remember my excitement when I was watching the N9 presentation in Singapore on June 2011.
It was 5:00 am in Greece but I didn't care. |

I wish it would but it will not. I have my hopes on other similar efforts. 1, The Jolla Sailfish 2, Nemo mobile (It's starting to look and feel like harmattan! It might even surpass it!) 3, BB10 (although things are looking bad for BB. But it is a great OS) 4, Remember Open WebOS? I hope LG still remembers it. 5, Tizen OS. Same goes for Samsung. I hope they have plans for it. Bada was pretty damn good by the way. 6, Ubuntu for phones. Let us wait and see what happens |

Re: Happy Birthday N9!
Quite of a nice article by HS about Nokia and harmattan. Recommend to read it.
http://www.hs.fi/kuukausiliite/This+...f=hs-art-new-1 Random question, but does anybody have the first harmattan picture leaked from years, years ago? The one that was in a horizontal orientation and resembled much more of a Maemo 5 than Swipe UI. Seems like I accidentally left it to my old hard drive (that is no more). |

Up to some months ago it even ranked higher than WP, globally. ps: worst OSes ever built are: WinMo, WP7, Android 1.6-2.3 and of course S^1 (S60 v5) take your pick. they are all equally bad. |
Re: Happy Birthday N9!
I liked that article too. It pretty much says it all and explains the demise of Nokia. Caught flat footed by superior device. Game over.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!
Words can not describe how amazing the N9 was and still is how easy to use with either hand as someone mentioned in the first pages. It seems like yesterday when I preordered mine but it's been almost two years. As I'm waiting for Jolla to surprise me I don't think there's ever gonna be a device i love so much.
So happy birthday Nokia N9 |
Re: Happy Birthday N9!
Proud to have my N9 in the US, it turns so many heads and creates so many questions..I've done apple, android for years, but as comfortable as those OS are, nothing compares to this phone...this forum and the devs are amazing, great community! Thanks to all who created it and those who still support it, really opens my eyes ..the neo900 sounds awesome so does jolla, whenever i can get my hands on one lol, but this will always be my favorite phone! FU Elop
