WiFi works great on the Jolla. At least it does for me.
But with many devices and routers over many years, I have learned that most WiFi issues are usually caused by the router or the combination of router and WiFi chip/driver of the device.

+1 on this! Last year, I spent several hours trying to figure out why my mother's tablet kept losing wifi connectivity; after endless fiddling with settings on both the tablet and the router, I finally checked on the net and discovered that there was a firmware update for the router. I installed the update and poof, problem gone.

I no longer take router reliability for granted. :)

Apart from issues in handover between two access points with the same name which was fixed sometime in early 2014, WiFi has been rock solid for me.

It's 3g data that has gone tits up for me since update 10. It regularly just disables itself requiring a quick flight mode toggle to get back.

Could this have sneaked in again? (I know I should have expressed differently ;))
As it seems my Jolla has problems to keep connected, sometimes looses, connects again automatically -or manually. Never had that with any other device ((using a few FRITZ Boxes).

I'm using a Fritz 3390 at home and a 7390 at work. Home also has an old Belkin N150 on the top floor. Same SSID on both and it seems to handover OK between them as I walk up the three floors between routers. It didn't used to. When exactly they fixed that I don't remember. It just got better one day.

Very true, and I tend to agree - but as I'm getting the problem in multiple locations (home, work, friend's house), with different router hardware, I'm thinking in this case it's a problem with the device.

I'd still love to know how to get more debug info and what the symbols mean - I am fully aware that complaining about 'wifi problems' isn't very helpful to anyone, and that I need to find *why* the disconnects are happening. I'm just not sure where to begin.

@mattuastin, in my case the home wifi signal lost might be caused from my AP, in this case the Jolla wifi symbol turns to a star and a network problem notification

I've had problems with this since I've owned my Jolla. I listen to radio stations via the SailWave app and everyday have the WiFi disconnect. I've even purchased a different router to try and change the wifi hardware I'm connecting to but this hasn't made a difference.

Very frustrating.

A shame it isn't just me but good to hear it isn't something that I'm doing. I may have to resurrect my N9!

Well, I got fed up with it and raised a support case with Jolla. Symptoms were that when using BT and WLAN to stream internet radio (TuneIn App) to headphones I'd get the WLAN dropping the connection. It was inconsistent with no pattern.

They've inspected in and found no fault. Their comments were that the BT and WLAN are on the same chip and when both are working together then it can/will get overloaded. However, if it works fine sometimes with no disconnections then there is an intermittent issue is there not!?

Since its return the BT settings have been totally lost (not sure if this is cached on the BT Module or elsewhere) and the issue still remains. Guess I'll either need some wired headphones or a different phone.

My N9 is pretty much dead now. I dropped it and it frequently has no reception. GPS is also intermittent. Shame as it was a 64GB one!

Hm... I'm using BT headphones (Sennheiser) almost always with my Jolla and haven't noticed that it would cause any WLAN disconnections.

I'm not saying you're not experiencing the problem (I wouldn't be too surprised if these two affected each other since it is the same chip), just offering my experience.

The more experiences the better thanks!

It suggests there is a hardware issue with my phone, shame it didn't present itself when it was in for investigation..
